That was a QUICK 3 second save! I didn't think a croc unlocks its bite that easily. Also, the big brother "retreated" before the young one re-emerged from the water. Very odd, but glad it all worked out.

The one that retreated was not the big brother. It was the younger one. It's hard to make out but it was actually the one that was attacked that retreated back after his brother freed him.

All these things are important in making these close bonds. And these bonds make them to back each other in situations like pride takeovers, protecting territories & in incidents like this against crocodile.

Croc attacks one of the lions while the the other lion comes to the rescue.
Then one decides to swim all the way back across the river to where the two lions started while the other one gets the heck out of the water ASAP and for good reason.
