There is much more information about his person as an artist, and why did he became so wellknown. The question in this case should be: What type of art did Michelangelo do, or what did he do to become the referance to the "renesaince man"
HI, good video. In the last question, why choice B is not the answer? I mean, he is talking about how impressive was his works, he is not really saying too much about the paintings themselves.
I think D is the correct answer. Surely B closely connect to the answer but it's not the exact answer. Question is about the main idea of the topic which author mentions at the beginning of the lecture about MichalAngelo and then by various supporting points in the preceding sentences. The option B reflects the resemblance to the last sentence int the lecture not to the overall topic i.e. its kind of just answers a particular question. But the overall idea is specified by option 'D' starting flow from start to bottom. This is what I think, hope it helps :) Thank You.

Why did you not give a full explanation of the second question? If we should be truly learning how to answer the main idea questions it is not sufficient enough to just give one example and then leave us to guess the strategy behind it. I would very much enjoy you giving a full explanation especially since is does not seem to be clear why the answer should be D. Thank you for your time.
I would say, look at the subject in every sentence for the answer. Is every sentence's main topic is about that option you are choosing? Or is it just few sentences that are backing up your option? Michelangelo's work/output/art are the subjects in all sentences. Narrator didn't talk about why/how. May be he stated that his versatile art is what that made him the most famous and the most influential artist in western culture. But mentioning why people in that time were influenced by his art would have made a good argument for option B. Even though it looks like the perfect answer, observing what the main subject of the lesson makes the difference. Have a great time learning!

I would also have chosen the B-at first, and I was completely shocked when it turnet out the actual result. Afterwards I noticed the "trap" in the answer B- it would have been correct if it was saying- the most influential RENESAINCE artist- ---but without this it is not reffering to the period of time- which makes it incorrect....but yeah, this question definitely does not measure the language skills....which makes that a lot of candidates would fail, even though they are on a good level

My understanding is that C is the correct answer for a Main Purpose question BUT D is the correct answer for the Main Idea question
