Hey travis and suzi. Been loving your car racing reactions lately. Been talking to a friend of mine and we are thinking of going to Mt. Panorama this year (October). I do love my F1. Been to several races in australia and Japan. Was lucky suzuka (where they have the japanese race) was less than an hour from where i lived. got caught in the friday typhoon at the track in 2004. there were about 100 of us holding on to anything we could in insane rain waiting for the bus to come and get us out of there. Ahh... the memories!!!

Crazy how much this would have costed. Getting all the cars and drivers to random spots is enough. Planes, drones, helicopters. But the F1 car would have had so much damage. Maybe only small things but obviously you can’t have that in an F1 car. They probably rebuilt or replaced half the car every scene.

The truck with 3 trailers is called a Road Train. They can be up to 8 trailers long and are used to transport goods over long distances in remote parts of the country. We don’t have the rail infrastructure in some places to,put such goods on a train… so they use Road Trains instead. They can be 150’ or more long. However the drivers will often let you know when it’s safe to overtake them, because you cannot see around them. Roads in remote parts of the country tend to be quite straight with very wide curves, so the Road Trains can get around them. The ‘bridge scene’ is the Sea Cliff Bridge. It was built because Lawrence Hargrave Drive would often be closed because rocks (large ones too) would drop off the cliff onto the road. So they built the bridge out wider to replace that section of the road. It is about an hour or so south of Sydney.

The helicopter in the video is used by ranchers to roundup cattle or camels on their stations. Stations are ranches that are bigger than many countries.

If you look at the shot of the Seacliff bridge bridge, you will see the old road wrapped around the cliffs, now that was a hairy ride.
You never knew if a rock was going to fall off the cliff & hit your car, or close the road.

When bikes raced at Mount Panorama they actually ran the track backwards, Forrest's Elbow is named after Forrest (can't remember his first name) kept digging his elbow in that corner on his bike, not for the shape of the corner.
