Hello! Awesome series of Videos around Logitech devices and MTR. One questions: In this particular setup you are using a generic Intel NUC and not an OEM solution for the MTR computer like the ones you buy from Dell and Lenovo. How can we get the Windows IoT license and ISO to deploy the MTR on the NUC like you did? I don't see on any of your videos how to actually "build" the NUC. Thanks!
Looking at getting this system in our workplace, thank you so much for putting this demo together so I can look like an expert when I set one up for the first time!
Another thing that's really important to point out. Is just how thin the USB-C cable is compared to previous solutions. Getting these routed through the floor/wall is MUCH easier than previous Surface based solutions. You can also wall mount the TAP panel. It will turn the logitech logo off so it doesn't look silly.
Hi Josh. Great video. 19:46 you already in the Teams meeting. Then you plug HDMI cable to your laptop to share your desktop. Does the desktop shared into the Teams meeting or just switch the display to your laptop instead displaying Teams?
Hi, your explanation is great , I have a question once we connect the HDMI cable through the touch panel to share the desktop, the audio will also be there or only the display, because in my setup i am unable to receive the audio when i am playing the video., but if i connect direct HDMI cable direct to the rally bar there is a audio please advise
Does the TAP allow me to bring my laptop in and plug in HDMI (yes it does :) ) but USB so that way i can take ownership of the camera? Other Rally systems allow this with the Surface. The the benefit would be if I had to join a non teams meeting I can use the resources of the conference room but control them from my own laptop to join the non teams meeting and still use the great camera and present.

Excellent video. Looking at building this setup in my home office now that I’m a full time work from home guy and looking to do consulting work and training.
Hoping to get some help with our current deployment. We procured a Logitech Rally bar & Tap (non-ip). Do we have to purchase the NUC as well, or can the rally bar and tap work together without it?
Great video, but I'm confused as to the benefits of such a system compared to what we have now. We currently have a large screen with a (cheap) webcam connected to a Dell Optiplex Micro. The user logs into the computer within the meeting room (which is running Ms Teams). They get their desktop and access to all their files (which they can share via the teams app if they wish). The meeting appears in their teams calendar and they click to join the meeting. That's basically it. Meetup seems to require a Laptop in addition to the NUC (plus an extra O365 license for the room).
Yeah, I'm confused as well. Soon as I saw him have to specify a user account when setting up the logitech tap alarm bells started ringing. Don't understand the system. Say your company has two meetings room, and 10 managers all who use teams....what then? It seems to me you need a dedicated pc in each meeting room, but everyone has their own laptops with all their documents and meetings setup in their outlook calendars. Which account sets up the meeting? The person hosting the meeting, or the accout signed into the tap? Very confusing.
The Mini pc if you connect it by HDMI to the screen without logitech tab, what will show on screen ? Normal Windows 10? And is it connected to internet by ethernet cable same like normal PC?
Hi, Josh. Just wondering what software should i install in NUC? Teams Room Console? OR something? I got exactly the same thing. NUC, Logit camera, TAP. when I turn on the NUC it cannot get the MS Teams app loading. And the TAP cannot connect to the NUC.

No, the NUC doesn't run CollabOS, it runs a special version of Windows 10 with the preloaded MTR app. The NUC is the "brain" of the room system. CollabOS is Logitech's Android OS for it's non-Windows based syatems.
Thanks for the video Josh, you provide a decent overview of the set up process: I would not have known about that 'secret compartment' access to the cable connection!
can you remove the desktop and add MTR license directly into TAP? Is there way to only use the HDMI cable to share content from the laptop or you have to connect HDMI and USB-A cable?
HDMI will allow you to share into a meeting that is running on the MTR. If you are using the system as BYOD, then you need the USB cable as well to use the camera/mics/speakers on the laptop.
Maybe a stupid question: how the external screen is relayed to the TAP touch or to the NUC? Didn't see any cable from the external screen connected to any device.
It's the PoE part of this device that I like. Everything in my law firm is PoE and will eliminate needing to use the power cable. The only problem is that some attorneys use Zoom and others use Teams. Could I get away with 2 different units on an HMDI auto switch?
@@ExpertOfThings I have auto switches in the rooms currently for any laptops that get brought in. It’s something to test out. I might grab 1 of each module and see how it goes. The rooms are already decked out with the Logitech Rally Pro systems. I’m really enjoying the setup so far.
How do you actually get the meeting to show up? I assume any meeting for the account that's signed in will be listed but then how does anyone else use it?
If you invite the room (account) to your meeting, then the account auto-accepts the invite, and the meeting is displayed on the device. You must invite the Room to your meeting.
Hi, thanks for the interesting video. i've got two question to this system: - If I want to share my laptop on the big screen without being in a Teams Conference Call. Can I use the HDMI Cable from the Tap as well or do I need to have a separate cable? - You just plugged everything and then just started up the NUC. As I assume the NUC is a normal mini-PC, doesn't I need to install some software on the NUC for using it with the TAP?
I believe you can just use the same HDMI cable for desktop sharing without a meeting, but I'm not 100% sure on that. As for the other question, yes, the NUC needs the proper software installed, if it is a NUC that is not shipped with the Tap as part of a Teams Rooms System bundle.
Monitor needs to connect to either a Windows 10 small form factor PC (like an Intel NUC, etc), or it can connect to a Logitech Roommate for an Android-based Microsoft Teams Rooms experience.

Teams Room Systems can now receive and join Zoom and Cisco meeting invites while running Microsoft Teams Rooms app. This needs to be enabled in the settings of the device, IF the device has the latest firmware update. LifeSize is not possible. If you want to take the device out of the MTR app, and use the native Zoom platform for Zoom Rooms, that is separate software and licensing altogether.
Can someone tell me where's the benefit of having a NUC in the Setup? I mean, what's job of the NUC if you're setting up the whole Skype/Teams Accounting in the Tap itself? I guess it's establishing the connection to the Domain of the company? And on the PC there has to be a special meetingroom domain account with the MTR Version of Teams/Skype in order to have all possibilities shown on the Tap? Means everyone who uses the room has to know the credentials of the Meetingroom account? I really didn't get the whole setup overlooked from the software/installation side. Is there a proper guide somewhere? Thx in adavance and regards

Means everyone who uses the room has to know the credentials of the Meetingroom account? I really didn't get the whole setup overlooked from the software/installation side. Is there a proper guide somewhere?
Thx in adavance and regards
Good video. It should be more accurately portrayed as setting up Tap with a teeny bit of Meetup sprinkled in
Good video and thank you for the content. But it should have been one third as long - you spent way too much time going over basic stuff. Any IT professional looking to setup a Microsoft Teams room will not need assistance with plugging in a power cable, and does not need to be told that the cloth has the Logitech logo on it. Talk too much and people tune out. I only made it to 06:36 where the in-depth cloth and logo discussion told me it was time to stop.
Appreciate the feedback, and fair commentary. I do my best to give the fairest shake to the product while keeping the desires of the viewers in mind, and it can be challenging to find the right balance when different people watch it for different reasons. I'll continue to try to perfect my craft. I hope you were able to find a video that provided what you were looking for.
Why not produce your very own how-to video Andy, you are obviously a high level engineer who does not need this kindergarten grade demonstration, show us how it is done mate.
@@Deliquescentinsight Like to stick your nose in don''t you Michael? My comment started with a positive comment and a thank you to the creator, followed by feedback on why I found the need to not watch all the way to the end, even though I was interested in the content. It's called feedback and meant to help them see what their audience like and dislike.
Thanks for the Awesome! Do you need to have a MS Teams Room License\Acct; or can you just use Skype for Business or MS Teams?
You can use regular user Licensing, but the Meeting Room license may be more cost effective.
an E3 license will work
@@ExpertOfThings you mean it MS Teams User License will work on this system with TAP? I always thought these TAP User Interface is always locked through a TeamsRoom license..
Hello,
Could you sharerd with me the model of your LOGITECH TAP please?
Hi, what licence do I require in order to use Teams.. is it a 365 Essentials or 365 Premium? thanks
I used an E3 license
@Michael Tressler Oh good, glad there is one finally. We were one of the first companies to get the system and they just told us an E3 would work
mounting plate is for mounting to a wall, or the underside of a table, not to keep it from sliding around lol
Great video Josh, would you be able to provide the list of equipment (logitech MEETUP and TAP kit) needed, as I would like to get a quote.
I would reference the package that Microsoft has at their site: www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/across-devices/devices/product?deviceid=368&page=1. If you look at that page, there are a few variations (Small Room, Focus Room, Huddle Room), and for each one, you can click on Tech Specs, and then "In the Box", and it will show you all components that the complete system ships with.
@@ExpertOfThings thanks Josh, will look at that. Just a question, is this suitable for a meeting /training room housing about 20 people?
@@ExpertOfThings what about larger rooms for say up to 20 people, is Logitec meetup and Tap kit suitable for this?
@@gab9905 you would want to look at something like this for a larger room:

@@ExpertOfThings that's great Josh. What's the reason for the second wall monitor?
intel n, u, c? Most of us call it the NUC (knuck).
Lol - yes, I was properly made fun of by some friends on Twitter for this. I have since assimilated, and call it by the widely accepted pronunciation. ;-)
How can we connect two displays to NUC
@Michael Tressler Thank You So Much
@Michael Tressler Correction. The NUC has 1 HDMI port but you can use a USB-C to HDMI cable. I can confirm that works as it's what I use.
@@flinchbot I'm having the issue where the laptop is connected for presentation the sound only comes from the TAP. My staff are wanting to have the sound come from the Sound bar. Any ideas or advice as to how to accomplish this?
Best, Eddie
Josh can I use the same system for Zoom?
I believe so, but honestly not sure. Definitely one to verify on Logitech's site.
@@ExpertOfThings they make one for Zoom rooms and 1 for Team but they do not do both. Logitech has a new product call the Swytch which allows you to bring your own device. We are looking at this now to handle Zoom requests.
You didn't show the HDMI from the NUC going to the display. But that's a given! Great video.

@@norlieliquigan7754 That's the cable going to the computer from the Logitech Tap. He was looking for the standard setup from the NUC to the monitor. The Logitech Tap plugs into the NUC and the NUC is plugged in like any other PC.
Josh. Another great demo. Beat me to it again. (Curse living in Australia) but just FYI, "NUC" is pronounced "Knuck" :P
Australia - you guys are basically still on dial-up modem speed for Internet access.
@@nzdefrag Provocative, this is not actually true, most urban internet accounts allow for at least 40MB/PS download, with many choosing much greater, you need to read more widely, not depend on the jungle drums quite so much.
@@Deliquescentinsight Sorry mate, just relaying the experience of one of our support engineers. He's from Sydney and cannot believe the internet speed when he's over for a week with us. He was the one that compared Oz internet to dial-up.
Hi Guys
I bought a TAP and NUC(installed win 10 Pro) and i have connected the devices together but still the TAP does not respond
So you tried aTeams Room License or user license?
Great video!
Nice video I like it. But just call the Intel NUC “a nuck” instead of N U C next time lol
Nope sorry man, all tech reviewers call it n u c as does intel.
Honestly, This and the MVC8000 Seem STUPID that you have to cable directly to the NUC to share your desktop. You either have to spend thousands and core the floor and rip up the wall or have cables hanging from your 75" TV like a Ghetto fool
thanks for the link (no)😡
your demo is incomplete , show us someone on call with video , thumbs down
