I don’t know about you but I really think Carolyn would be amazing as a narrator for audiobooks! 🩵 love your voice, Carolyn! Your videos are always so cozy 🥰
This is so wholesome and sweet. It reminds me of when I was first married. You look so happy. It’s really great to see. My husband and I have watched a lot of Gilmore girls together as well 😊.
Thank you for making me so happy by sharing your happy moments together :) I really can feel the love and joy through my screen I am serious! Sending lots of love to you guys and everyone
Yes, this video is one of your all time best! You and Leon are perfect together. I wish you both the very best in your marriage and that you enjoy many happy times in your new place!
Such a pleasure it is watching a person enjoying life! Loved the backdrops as well as hearing about a new favorite read. That bridge above the river is stunning: Isn't it amazing what normal people can do? And you know, in a way it represents the progress we've made from hiding in our stone castles to creating access to it, and trusting it will be ok.
Carolyn, I loved this video so much! Thanks for taking us along on your journey in the UK! It makes me so happy to see you and Leon so happy. This video was so cozy and wonderful.
Here's to all of us whose birthday falls in October, have a happy birthday Carolyn. I celebrated mine a few days ago, early in the month. I loved the images of the cathedral and that lovely bridge you were near. I am looking forward to your next adventures. 🍜🫖 💕
❤️ love! My husband and I watched all of the Gilmore Girls episodes together, right after we had our first baby. It is a beautiful memory. Now everytime Gilmore Girls is on, we think of that time.😊
Carolyn, this vlog was so cozy, so warm, i loved it! You and Leon are so cute together and Bristol is beautiful! Waiting for part 3 already! Have a wonderful Birthday, darling! 💖☺️
Beautiful Scenery and Sooo Amazingly Awesome As to How Many Different Types of Tea There Are😃😊🌳☕️Intermezzo Sounds Very Interesting, This Will Most Definitely Be on my TBR List, Thank You So Much😊👍👍📚📚📚 😃Arches is THE Best Watercolor Paper Ever😊🎨🎨🎨
I bought all of Sally Rooney's books because you recommended reading hers. Yesterday I finished Normal People and I thought it was a wonderful book. I will start Conversations with Friends today. I hope you are feeling better now and enjoying your time in England with your husband! Happy sunday! 🤍
Happy birthday! And I’m so sorry you got ill on your 1st week here. It’s like that when I send my kids back to school after a holiday- they always get sick in the first week! Can’t wait to see you exploring a bit more- can I make an unsolicited suggestion of a visit to Bath, which isn’t too far from Bristol. I think you’d love the Jane Austen Centre. And it’s quite a bit more of a trek but up in the Lake District there is Hill Top which is now a national trust property but it was the home of Beatrix Potter and I think your animal loving artist’s heart would like that. There’s also a gallery in the nearby village as well. National Trust properties often shut over winter but if you’re back here in spring or summer then it’s a good suggestion for you. And it would be remiss of me if I didn’t give a plug for Derbyshire (my home county) as we’ve got Chatsworth House (pride and prejudice Keira Knightley) There you go, you didn’t ask for any of that but I gave it anyway😂 enjoy your precious time with your new hubby xx
When I was 26 I was a mama to a 1 year old and hubby and I were having our home built 😊 The first decade of marriage is a treasure. Bristol looks unbelievably beautiful. I must visit there. (I'm also an American currently living in the UK)
I was feeling so cold under the blanket due to the bad chilly weather here. But this video made me so warm. It felt like I was drinking the ginger tea with you. Really, I swear. So you imagine how powerful your video is. Thank you for sharing with others the warmth of life you are experiencing. Stay cheerful! 🤩
I love these little travelogues, such a beautiful area. The nursery rhyme London Bridge was going through my head! I am reading several Christmas books - not sure why but they just feel comforting right now. Thank you for another lovely vlog!
You'd enjoy Virginia Woolf's essay, "On Being Ill". It used to be available as a little standalone volume. Don't know if it still is, but it should be available somewhere.
Happy early birthday Carolyn 🎉 I hope you are feeling better? This was a lovely vlog I’m so glad your having a wonderful time in the uk creating special memories with your new husband 📖💕📖
Happy early birthday! I watch a lot of your videos and it so happens my birthday is today (although I am much older than 26). Have a beautiful time celebrating!
I tried that recipe you made and it's delicious!! I didn't have zucchini but I did have carrots and it tastes like the beginning of autumn!!! Thank you Carolyn ❤️
Carolyn this is such a fun vlog!! Thank you for sharing a little of your life in England 🥰 I wondered, do you have an Amazon wish list for things you need for your new apartment? If so, I’d love to get you guys a wedding present! (Like a baking dish, if you guys still need one?)
Happy early birthday 🎉 I’m so glad to see you’re enjoying England and all the tea hehe. Also can I please talk to Leon about how he butters his toast because he misses half the bread and I am still in shock 😂😂
Lovely vlog! I especially enjoyed the shots of the Clifton Bridge and environs. You may be interested in reading the novels of E. H. Young, who wrote in the 1920s-1940s. Her novels are set in Clifton & Bristol, and the Bridge is mentioned in almost all of them. You might have to look for her books in charity shops or used book stores in the older Virago (green) editions. Enjoy your time in Bristol; my grandfather was born there, so it has a special place in my American heart.❤️
What a wonderful vlog! You don't usually do weekly vlogs, right? Turns out, you're really good at it. I'd love to see more of that city. I don't think I've heard of it and it's beautiful. ... Thanks!
I wonder what your early impressions of living in England are? I think that Bristol is a really cool place to live, I’ve visited a friend there once. Currently I’m reading ‘The silence in between’ by Josie Ferguson and it’s made a really good start. Lots of love to you both, I really enjoy your sunny personality x
That’s such a pretty notebook, you could have it also as a little travel journal so stick tickets and a few photos in and all the different tea tags of the teas you try it would be so cute. I’m glad you are enjoying your time in England. If you do any further travels I’d recommend a day trip in Oxford, the bookstore there blackwells (the one on broad street) is so beautiful and massive, and if you go to the till near the exit you can ask them to stamp the book for you so you always remember where you got it. There’s also the little Alice in wonderland shop and there’s a beautiful cafe called vaults and gardens that does amazing scones, I’m not sure if they are vegan but I know they do a lot of vegan lunch dishes there :)
I finished Intermezzo yesterday and absolutely flew through it, my favourite Sally Rooney book for sure. I’ve enjoyed all her other ones but as soon as I finished them I forgot everything about them, I could honestly tell you absolutely nothing about CWF and BWWAY😅😅 I read Normal People 6 years ago I think? So I’m not surprised I’ve forgotten that one lol. I found the writing style in Peter’s chapters absolutely masterful, that’s what truly makes Intermezzo a clear step up from all her previous works imo. I found Ivan’s chapters slightly tedious at times and much slower to get through, didn’t help that I absolutely hated him😅 it wasn’t *quite* a 5 star read for me as there was a few things I didn’t like but very enjoyable and moving nonetheless. On another note I’ve always wanted to try that tea company so when I’m in England next (whenever that will be) I’ll have to make sure to buy from there now that they’re Carolyn approved😉
Love your UK updates, and you and Leon are like bread and butter, or rather toast and butter 😂 Just started reading Intermezzo yesterday, and so far I'm enjoying it. I am also reading Private Rites by Julia Armfield, which has similar theme, three sisters, after their father has passed away. Haven't finished yet, but I think it might be a bit similar to Intermezzo. Also reading Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell for your book club hoping to finish it before the end of October🤞Hope your stay in the UK will inspire your future art and writing. Wishing you a full recovery from cold, and a lovely Sunday evening❤🍂
I enjoyed seeing the Bird & Blend Tea Store. Did you try anything besides Gingerbread Chai? We're visiting London at Christmas and Bird & Blend is on my list.
I loved reading Intermezzo with you 🧡💙 I agree that Intermezzo is Sally Rooney at her best, but Beautiful World definitely had more of a exactly the right book at exactly the right time feel for me personally. I haven’t read anything like Sally Rooney since I discovered Woolf 💜 Margarat reminded me of 1Q84 in a way. At the end of the chapter where she meets Ivan she talks about “life slipping free from it’s netting.” She did something out of the ordinary and her life has rearranged itself. All her thoughts about reality and meaning in Intermezzo; great fantastic. Highly recommend to everyone!
Dear Carolyn, my English literature inspiration :) Listening to you talking about your new purchase of Paperblanks, you made me smile widely, as I do own EXACTLY this very one, in the same size. I have been using it for about a year for my musings and observations. Just wanted to share our Paperblanks obsession :) I have been watching your vlogs since I started my degree in English lit. a couple of years ago and got a few books on your recommendations. I look forward for more literature and life content :)
What a lovely video. What piqued my interest was the beauty of your eyes. I don’t ever think I’ve seen a wing liner. It does suit you well. You seem so very happy you both make a lovely couple. I wish you so much happiness. Right now, I am reading A lesson before dying, by Ernest Gaines. It’s a classic novel about a black man accused of killing two white men. Very interesting. Have a great week.
Cirencester is so beautiful, definitely visit Cirencester - I live is South Wales but not far from the Severn Bridge (well, 20 minutes) so fairly close by too
I really didn't like other of Rooney's works. I liked how she weaves the story, but I could never connect with her writing flow. however, Intermezzo sounds really interesting, and I would like to read it at some point.
Hi! Can anyone confirm or deny if intermezzo is about romance like her previous books or just about the brothers? I don't particularly like heterosexual books but as a sibling I'm interested in the little i heard from Carolyn
Wonderful vlog thank you. So glad you’re enjoying Bristol. It was a big part of my family’s lives for 3 years. 🤎 I bought my two daughters Intermezzo so I’m excited to see what they think of it. I’m currently reading The Witches of New York. Perfect for snuggling weather.
I don’t know about you but I really think Carolyn would be amazing as a narrator for audiobooks! 🩵 love your voice, Carolyn! Your videos are always so cozy 🥰
100% agreed!
I know right!!!

Hi Carolyn! I’m in LOVE with these long videos ❤ please do more long videos like these I KNOW I’m not the only one that likes them

Haven’t watched the whole video yet, but I expect you are talking about the Clifton suspension bridge in Bristol - it is stunning

I hope you have a wonderful birthday! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences in England!

I lived near Bristol. My dad was born there. So happy for you to see such a beautiful city in England ❤

this is crazy!!! I just moved from the US to Bristol a month ago!! it's so fun to see you exploring a new country (and city) as well ❤
I loved this vlog! It reminded me of when I got married and had my honeymoon in the UK! All the best for you two!
I love these little travelogues, such a beautiful area. The nursery rhyme London Bridge was going through my head!
I am reading several Christmas books - not sure why but they just feel comforting right now.
Thank you for another lovely vlog!
I would watch "Across the Pond" as a TV show. I so love it! 😊These videos are food for the soul. 🌟
yeah :)

Rice and beans sounds delicious. Enjoy!
I just got Intermezzo!! So excited for this
Great to see you enjoying Bristol ♥️

That is one of my favourite places to sit, overlooking the suspension bridge
Happy early birthday! I watch a lot of your videos and it so happens my birthday is today (although I am much older than 26). Have a beautiful time celebrating!
Very much looking forward to seeing what tou create on the Arches paper. It'll be amazing for sure. Great vlog as always.❤
Welcome to England! I would recommend The Birds by Tarjei Vesaas as a really poignant sibling relationship portrayal.
7.16 was hilarious😅
What a beautiful Vlog😍😃🙏. Thanks so so much. At the Moment i read „The Testaments“ by Margaret Atwood👌🙂. Have a nice Birthday Week dear Carolyn🌻😊
Great vlog. I look forward to the next one. Glad your feeling better. Have a nice week.
How wonderful to know you are in England! I hope you’re having a wonderful time.
My favourite Bird and Blend tea is Enchanted Narnia ❤️ 🫖

I’m with Leon, yay toast!!
Leon needed a bookmark, don’t we all use what we have lying around? 😂
Happy early birthday 🎉 I’m so glad to see you’re enjoying England and all the tea hehe. Also can I please talk to Leon about how he butters his toast because he misses half the bread and I am still in shock 😂😂
your videos are so calming~

"Leon is addicted to toast." >>> Book recommendation: Mercy Watson series by Kate DiCamillo

AAAAWWW💕
I am so happy for you and your husband! You two are the sweetest! You don't have to answer this but I'm curious: how did you meet each other?
She said bird and blend and i immediately thought about ruby 😂
I love this style of video! dinner looked tasty, I'm curious is Leon also a vegan?
I clicked on this so fast! First!
🥰🥰🥰
the way yall are naming the edition of the book in gilmore girls ahahah 😭😭😭
Lovely vlog. Hope you feel better and can enjoy your birthday (🎉Happy Birthday). You’re not far from me. Let me know if you ever visit Cirencester 😊
Cirencester is so beautiful, definitely visit Cirencester - I live is South Wales but not far from the Severn Bridge (well, 20 minutes) so fairly close by too
My birthday is in less than a month and I’ll be 34 😅
I was just wondering about your driving in England, have you attempted it? 😊
Lovely video, new watcher. How long will you be in the UK?
so random but can you do haircare routine 😅
are you still in Bristol!? I'm in bath come say hi!
Who is Willow staying with? What is Leon studying? ❤
