That's a great looking Tele body. At first I didn't think I was going to like it. But when you hit it with the sand and sealer and the grain popped , man I was hooked. Great job on that finish.
This looks a good bit darker than most transparent black finishes I see on "mainstream brand" guitars. Like their promo pics will have a nice dark transparent black look and then in IRL shots the guitars are washed out grey. You did a much better job.

thanks its for sale!
@@bigdguitars Thanks for the offer. If I were going to buy one it would be a dark red burst on a flamed maple LP
That's a beauty Clark!
very nice burst - thanks for the great video Derek - Cheers from Canada
This is a gorgeous look! Gonna make a really nice guitar!
Very nice looking body. The grain looks good subtle but there for sure. With a semi gloss finish on this body it would really nice.
Interesting seeing the different approach with the air brush vs the hand applied feathering. Thanks for showing it.
Great Job on this one. Yes it’s darker, but it works perfectly. 👍
Go Cards! Great looking project
VERY, VERY NICE!
That looks just gorgeous Derek! Kimball always has the real goods doesn't he?
yea he is the best

How would you go about getting a glossy finish out of this guitar?? Would you use Polyurethane over the sanding sealer?
I’m thinking of doing a black burst zebra wood Strat. Any tips for finishing zebra wood?
Simple but awesome. Like an AC/DC song lol
quick vid!
Looks great ! What do you use to clean the airbrush after using the leather dye ?
Algorithm comment. Appreciate the vids!
I will take it
Hi! Great job! What airbrush nozzle do you use? all the same angelus dye?
I don't know what ever nossel was on there. All the same black dye
Wow! Name of trasparent?
What grit do you sand to before the initial black dye?
What kind of dye are you using,
Water or Alcohol based?
I am using angelus leather dyes. purchase them here: angelusdirect.com/?rfsn=566896.75dad582

Thank You!
Matte finish ruins this one for me.. Could get more depth with a good clear coat
