Carrie held onto her apartment all these years and throughout her marriage to Big. She couldn't tolerate the new place she had bought with the excessive sunlight and strange beeping noise. This apartment was so tied to her identity and her history. I can't envision a series or film featuring her character that does not have THIS apartment in it.
I had such an apartment in my broke, single 20 ish days…. It was across the street from the beach and it was my sanctuary! It’s been over 30 years and when I close my eyes I can see every detail….
This woman has a pattern, she left that apartment so many times and she is gonna go back to it.
That apartment is a character. It changed with her, like a well used purse or that sweater you have from your teens. It's so much apart of the show and I feel like we are losing a friend. I've seen the show from eps 1 to the movies and now to this. I hope who ever gets it will make it there space to grow and laugh and make new memories. I always felt it was my apt too. From my 20s, and 30s. I don't think any apt in any tv show has had this affect on me as this one.
The apartment is like a 6th character to the show. The four girls, New York being the 5th and the apartment the 6th. I love the new apartment but it feels too Kardashian (too white and minimalistic) in comparison to this apartment. This is Carrie. Like the Park Avenue apartment is so Charlotte. Miranda's Brooklyn's house is also Miranda but I can miss it. Samantha was meant to live everywhere in the world.

Exactly! Aidan is the new Mr Big, the one who keeps Carrie in a holding pattern… with no clear plans for the future. She offered to visit Norfolk (regularly) just like she offered to visit Paris … 😮

I'm in my thirties and l have saved some money, enough to start to look for an apartment for the first time in my life. And let me tell you that, after all these years, I still envision something like Carrie's studio. Gosh, it's awesome. If it had just one extra bedroom for guests would be too ideal. Fingers crossed in my search. 🤞🤞🤞

I love the new apartment she bought. It has great energy. The magic of her original apartment left the minute it was redesigned. It no longer had that Old New York, Carrie Bradshaw feel. The redesign lacked personality... felt like a cookie cutter of most magazine or IG interior design. Looking forward to more scenes in that BEAUTIFUL new apartment. Since she doesn't write anymore in her apartment in AJLT, I wonder how they'll incorporate it to fit this new chapter of her life. I hope she hosts her girlfriends over her spot more now.

I know we go one, but I know how I will miss the great apartment for all was on it! Have so much history and charming. Changes sometimes are good but how good enough? Anyway, this program I like so much form the beginning because told us real story for a nices girls on earth. Also, I had a Mr. Big 😉

I loved what the apartment looked like from the 1st movie. I was cleaner, organized and she had a wall mounted t.v! But then again, I always liked how her apartment decor changed from the first season.

You only sublet if you are on the lease. She didn't have a lease, she owned the apartment (mortgaged, or fully paid for. She got a mortgage in season 4 of SATC.

New Yorkers know you don't give up GOOD city apartments unless you have to. Period.
She kept it so that she and big could have space, alone time when they needed it she also allowed Charlotte to use it to have a break from the kids, not a bad idea tbh if you can afford it
