Dortmund and Bayern are paired team based on tv audience. Since bayern already in group C, dortmund have to allocate to group (e, f, g, h)

I don’t understand why Juventus being the 2nd team drawn in pot 2 only had group G and H to choose from. Shouldn’t groups A, B,C, and D all been available? Their TV pairing was with Inter Milan which wasn’t drawn yet. Trying to make sense of this

In the group stage you cannot play against another club from your country. Those clubs cannot play against Germans or force other clubs (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian) to play against each other either.

What about drawing 2nd last 3rd pot team to real madrid while it also should have been between the group of barca and real. It appears like some team were assigned easy team while some were expelled to hard group.
@@sapbelars8570 It Is explained at the start of the draw. Some teams are paired so of One Is in Red Groups (A B C D) his pair must be allocated to Blue Groups (E F G H). For example Milan Is paired with Napoli so Milan was drawn in Group E (Blue group) and for Napoli Only the Red options (A to D) were available

this draw proves why uefa super league is still demanded by big teams. The uefa champions league group stage is becoming sort of scripted? Barcelona vs bayern or inter, real Madrid vs shaktar, Porto vs atletico Madrid, Liverpool vs napoli. added to all players like giroud, haaland, dimaria facing their old teams. it's the only sport that things like this happen

My friends actually started laughing when Barca drew with inter Milan and Bayern, a team that everyone feared to face now everyone believes they'll be the first to go into the Europa, like some years back Barcelona would be the absolute favorite to go through regardless of who is in there group. Barcelona has fallen so far Xavi has a huge job here.
Relax. Barca will go through. Bayern is a monster club but let's be honest, Inter is the weak link amongst the 3. They are not good enough in the UCL and won't do much damage like how people expect they would. I remember not too long ago they were in a grp with RM, Bayer Leverkusen and Viktoria and completely fell off the curb, finishing LAST in that group. So Bayern 1st Barca still 2nd and going through for me.
If you and your friends believe that you guys have been living under a rock for the past couple of months, Xavi has already started doing that job and Barca are definitely more favourite then inter to go through

Why was the only option for Shaktar the Madrid group when there is no other club from Ukraine in the Bayern + Barcelona group? There was no Italian team in Madrid's group, so Inter could have def gone there no? In the end I don't see how this happens when you could basically swap the last 4 teams to enter those groups without an issue? Can anyone explain these rules in a way that makes sense? Because the way I see it, Plzen, Celtic, Inter, Shaktar have no conflicts with the other teams from those groups, yet they forced Shaktar into Madrid's group when there was still an open group.

They need to do away with seeding pots - then, it would be truly interesting. In horse racing, that also employs a handicap system, the stronger horses are handicapped; in the Champions League, the weaker teams are handicapped. At least, make it neutral UEFA.
Seeding pots make a lot of sense actually, Imagine one group gets all the great teams, and other group gets all the worst teams. Each group will get only 2 advancing to the playoffs, but the teams that advanced from the "weak group" would be waaay weaker than the teams that didn't make the playoffs in the "strong group", which would be unfair. Also this makes sure that all the groups have interesting matchups.

They do not want the stronger teams to meet each other earlier on.

The seeding system (which was derived from coefficient points earned) help reward the "better performed team" to have a favourable draw the following season. It isn't simply about how "big" the club is, historical or money wise. If say, Man United fail to qualify the UCL for the next 10 years, and on the 11th year, join back in the UCL, they deserve to enter in Pot 4. But it don't do teams like Real Madrid and Liverpool justice to be unseeded. They could be meeting and knocking either one out in the first match, while teams like Maccabi Haifa and Viktoria Plzen who has done nothing in the competition get to fight for a berth in the following round.
