- This is a documentary video about Mount Moriah Cemetery that my colleagues and I from Community College of Philadelphia Produced. I would like to thank Ms. Paulette Rhone Board President of Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery located in Philadelphia and Delaware Counties and the volunteers who participated in the making of this video.
I heard of this cemetery I don’t think I once lived that far away I’m so old I often think of the deceased that are there we must never forget our service men there thanks for the video. Bless you. ❤❤❤❤ 4:30
It's sad to see that this cemetery was let go like that, but on the other side of the coin it's great to see these people doing what they can to clean the place up and take care of it. My great-great grandmother is buried at Mt. Moriah, and I hope to get down that way to see her grave someday. Given that most of my ancestors wound up buried at Monument Cemetery (and given what happened there), I was delighted to see that at least one of my ancestors wasn't buried there. Thanks for all you do.
What an interesting story on Mary Brady!
Loved this thank you..the volunteers are amazing
Good to see people coming together to take care of this place, it’s really shocking how it was let go. I just visited the military cemetery in Gettysburg, and it’s so beautiful and well maintained. Why hasn’t the same care been given to this cemetery??
you guys are doing a great thing. I am proud of you all.
I found this cemetery geocaching about two years back. I found it quite intriguing because there were many people in the cemetery walking about or just sitting around relaxing. As we were walking up the main road off the entrance heading up the hill towards the cache I couldn’t help but notice the stark difference between the lower portion of the cemetery and the upper portion. It was heartbreaking to see how overgrown and neglected the area was with trees growing through and around the headstones. It looked as if someone had started to clear out the area but it still needed so much work to make it look as nice as the lower section. I’m so glad to see it being cared for and loved again.
Is it true Betsy Ross is buried in the cemetery?

Walter Croncite is buried gere
Betsy Ross was buried there about 40 yards back of where my Mom and her parents are now. She was still there in 1956 when mom was buried. I remember my older brother pointing to it that day. Last time I was there the flag poll was still standing (no flag). She was moved to her house on Arch street long ago.
300 Army and work detail for 300 prisoners could make quick work of clean up pbly one week.
Its Shameful that the city doesn't step in and help.
They did at the start of the clean up...they replaced the fences and had dump trucks and big lawn mowers...the grass was over 6ft.tall at the start no open areas at all...the city was in there every day at the beginning, now its just volunteers i think
it's a wonderful thing that you're doing!
My daughter is buried there.

There's a lot of questions about donating and buying shirts! Why not answer the questions? I wouldn't mind that sweatshirt with the gate picture on it.
