The news that Prince Mustafa moving towards the throne and Suleiman is heavily wounded drop in the place like a bombshell. Hürrem takes an action to stop Mustafa. Sultana Şah supports Hürrem who is worried about her princes. However, Hürrem doesn't trust her and makes an important decision. Though, Hürrem's life turns into a nightmare with this decision. After Hürrem gets a hard hit, she challenges her enemies! All the balances get upset suddenly with a message received in the palace. Hürrem both tries to reach to Suleiman and stop Mustafa. She literally has her back to the wall and needs to make a decision. She will either leave her princes' destinies in Mustafa's hands or enthrone her son and shape their destinies on her own. Meanwhile, Sultana Şah takes a quick action with the message they've received. Even if she looks like she's on Hürrem's side, it is obvious that she will support Mustafa. She offers Hürrem to hide the princes in her palace. However, Hürrem doesn't trust her at all. Just the time Hürrem thinks that she's ensured her princes' securities, she gets devastated with the news that Bayezid and Cihangir has abducted. Hürrem gets mad and starts to look for her children. She gets shocked with the thing she sees. Hürrem gets a hard hit and falls into silence. Just as her enemies think that they have won a victory, Hürrem reveals a secret that will set them at odds.
Will Mustafa accede to the throne? What will Hürrem do to stop him? Who abducted the princes? What is the thing that shocked Hürrem? What is the secret Hürrem reveals?
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Actually hurrem is not valida sultan ( powerful designation after sultan)....she could get this designation after sultan's death( which is in reality didn't happen ever ) ...Hurrem is haseki sultan (main wife) ...she gets all her power for her wit and favorable of and loyalty for sultan ... bt Sultan sister has same blood of ottoman dynasty so they are theoretically more powerful...u can see always hurrem bow to them bt they never bow her back showing respect ....

She is a Haseki Sultana now and Suleimans legal wife, her position is much higher then it was when she first arrived. The only reason he bows now is out of respect, even in the last season when Mustafa was executed and Hurrem went to pay her respects to Mahidevran she did not have to bow but she did slightly nod her head and bend her back as a sign of respect. The writers pay a lot of close attention to details and it’s quite impressive.

At this point Hurrem had already outranked Mahidevran in status yet she still bowed to her as a sign of respect. I believe the same thing applies to Shah, Hatice etc. I don’t exactly now how the ranks in the Ottoman Empire worked tho, maybe you are right and she still has to bow to members of the dynasty.

The biggest flaw of this show is how Hurrem is literally the most powerful woman in the Ottoman Dynasty and she absolutely does not have to follow the orders of the sultan's sisters as she outranks them all. Sah Sultan would never have been able to talk to Hurrem like that.
I find it odd that these Sultanas come to visit the palace and start ordering everyone around, including Hurrem, especially in Suleiman’s absence. They may be blood dynasty, but Hurrem is the solemnized wife of the Sultan, and the mother of 4 Sehzades. But I’m not an expert in the hierarchy so 🤷♀️ I just feel like Hurrem should be able to say “my house, my rules” 😂

Actually the biggest flow in this show is actually the way round. Hurrem was an Haseki, and so Mahidevran. And if we actually look at the proper Palace Rules and Protocols, Mahidevran would have been higher up in authority as she was the Crown Prince Regent mother. It's also true the the Sultan sisters were very much higher in status and authority than Hurrem as they were pure blood born members of the Ottoman Dynasty. In fact in reality Hurrem would have not lived in the Valide Sultana Chambers, and not even the Sultan would have been able to change that. This show have distorted everything from start to finish just for the audience. But in reality Hurrem wouldn't even dare to talk back to the Sultan sisters, neither threaten them. The fact Hurrem married Sultan Suleiman, didn't give her an higher status, power neither authority. The only two highest Authority in the Palace are the Sultan and the Crown Prince Regent. No one else, and in this case especially Hurrem. Hurrem ruled the Harem. Not the Palace. Which are two complete different things. Out of the Harem, Hurrem didn't count anything.

In fact, Ibrahim I was the first to bestow the title upon more than one woman at the same time. On top of that, the title holder of haseki sultan was second only to valide sultan, meaning, no, the sisters and crown prince mother did NOT have more power. That was the whole point of the creation of haseki sultan.

Since she had been shielded from the normal wear & tear one goes through in life, and got by on her innocence and beauty, her ego took a major beating when she was betrayed, and she really broke down. Her confidence shot, we can see that her once imperious attitude is now less secure, and she never fully recovers. No one knows what she might do, or say.

HURREM lets NIGAR alive, and coming to the palace and to her room, giving her advice and what to do about the THRONE, letting her hear private discussions with sumbul about the murdered messenger??? KNOWING who and what Nigar is?! Ridiculous plot

Oh definitely all the costumes are amazing. This one just really stood out to me! I kept waiting to see her in it again, and unfortunately we don't see it again until Fatma Sultana wears it. They don't showcase it well, and Fatma doesn't wear it as well as Hurrem did, in my opinion.

Shah/Sah Sultana is an intelligent woman in this show, but what she did was horribly stupid in my opinion. I’m sick of everyone scheming to get rid of Hurrem because she’ll “destroy the dynasty”. They all seem so caught up in teaching Hurrem a lesson, or reminding her of her place (as a former slave), or even trying to have her assassinated. Yes, Hurrem tried to have Mustafa killed on two occasions (that I can recall), but this was all only after everything she’s had to endure since she arrived in the harem and to prevent her sons from having to be killed upon Mustafa’s ascension. Because while Mustafa may spare them, Mahidevran will not.
I think the smarter move would’ve been to bring Hurrem to their side in the beginning and use her smarts to benefit them(the dynasty). But, instead, they’re all facing down against the “monster” that the previous Valide created and can do nothing but blame Hurrem for everything, even the things she didn’t do.

Not true. You don't know the real history of the Ottoman empire. Remember some of these are fictional. They put it on the first part of the show. Ottoman didn't fall badly. It just changed its dynasty. Like the title king to president. The Ottoman empire lasted until the 2nd world war.

That's why Hürrem survived. She know when she must use her head and when to use her heart. Usually Hürrem used her head (cleverness) to destroyed her enemies. But in this time, if she used her head, she will supported Bayezid to the throne, and it will became her real ending.
And that's why i think Şah Sultan is the best among sultanas of the blood. She's clever and independent. She really used her political power and not just gave Süleyman a random women in his bed.

And then, the only memories of Ibrahim she has left in her palace gets taken away by Shah Huban. Pretty cruel of Shah to do that.
