    The 10mm American Battlefield Trust will be sending you a strongly worded letter regarding your destruction of The Shiloh battlefield. As the members are all 10mm themselves, it will be difficult if not impossible to read.

      The Complaints Dept has dusted off his .... erm .... their microscope and it's on standby, expecting a miniaturised influx (confetti) of 10mm mini-complaints in the mail.

    I can't wait for the battle. I'm intrigued to see how it could be made an interesting scenario, as the battle historically doesn't lend itself to dynamic decision making.

      @LittleWarsTV ปีที่แล้ว +17

      No it does not lend itself to a great scenario! So true. This was a major point of emphasis in the scenario design and I think folks will be interested to see how we approached it.

      Just give negative victory points for players letting predictable quotes slip and see who's losing the least at the end of the day.

    Oh my gosh. Cant believe yall are doing this battle. I cant wait. Watching the old 300 Spartans movie as a child, not the new remake, is what got me interested in ancients warfare.

    Technical note: XPS (pink insulation or equivalent) is extruded polystyrene. EPS (white styrofoam or equivalent, the kind with small balls of foam) is expanded polystyrene. Unless you're using EPVC (extruded PVC, which is much harder than either of the polystyrene products) or some injectable foaming product, it's extremely likely that any foam you use is going to be polystyrene. The foam board you show at 1:34 is definitely polystyrene.

    Just a minute in and I had to pause. I knew that a lot of the Aegean coastlines have shifted both under and above the waves, but just looking at Thermopylae and the level of coastline recession is just... wild.

    TFW you get carried away making impassible terrain. It looks great, but reminds me of all the other historical battles I want to game that are difficult to adapt as scenarios because they aren’t simply 2 formations facing each other on a flat empty plain. Sometimes it’s hard to identify some command decisions that will fit on the table, to avoid just being a diorama in motion. Often the most obvious decisions that could change the course of battle involve being somewhere completely different.

    • @LittleWarsTV
      @LittleWarsTV ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Agreed…this is one of those famous battles that’s hard to wargame. Limited maneuver options and limited choices for each side. But damn it’s a cool looking battlefield!

    Help me please. I just decided I wanted to do something like this. I want to re create the battle of edington. I don't want to play a game but just make a model battlefield with the figurines for a decorative piece in my house. How do I decide between 10, 15, or 28mm miniatures for the battlefield? I want to make a 3x6 or 4x6 replica. This is my first time doing this and very new to everything so it is a little overwhelming
