I'm assuming you are thinking Roberta Flacks vision is the "original" you write about above? If I'm wrong on my assumption, I apologize. If it of interest, the original writer of the song really disliked "cover" versions of his songs...so, I'm thinking you and him agree about Elvis' version! :)

If you really want to hear the true masterpiece, listen to Celine Dion's live version from 1998. It's here on TH-cam. Jaw dropping. Goosebumps. A true masterpiece.

I only recently learned of the history of this song...I was the one, who before learning, that Roberta Flack's version was the original! Ha! Didn't know it was originally written as a "folk" song. I came across a version, here on youtube, by Miley Cyrus which I personally think is great. Maybe check-it-out, if you haven't heard it. Really gave me goose-bumps. Thanks again Brad. Take care!
