      Except it’s not.
Starbucks is nothing to write home about but I assure you there are far too many places with coffee worse than Starbucks.
Plus the coffee renaissance in Greece started with the coming of Starbucks. Few of the hipster tattooed bearded baristas were even born to remember how bad coffee used to be in Athens

@@terryv.2531 coffee renaissance didn't start with Starbucks in Greece because of the fact that the vast majority of Greeks didn't go to the Starbucks in the first place. Starbucks gives emphasis to beverages feeling like liquid pastries with tastes like pumpkin coconut etc. There are plenty of good small cafeterias that started making good real coffee at the turn of the century or so. If Greeks had to discover real coffee from somewhere it's Vienna, Rome etc

Fredo Espresso was born at the coffee festival in Saloniki back in the 90’s
    .
One of the baristas wanted a cold coffee but didn’t want to make the regular Nescafé Frape so he took a shot of espresso and whipped it up in the frappe blender with ice and it basically took over greece.
