Yes it is!! Make sure you pick your day, it can get really choppy when the wind is blowing, also you want a good tide so the water is moving through the rocks!!!
Wow. Great fish! Quick question. Do you think the Carolina rig like that would work at the dam/rocks near Hopedale, too, or would it get hung in the rocks too much? I have fished a jig with shrimp and caught some fish, but lose a ton of jighwads getting snagged. Wasn't sure what your thoughts would be there. I kayak fish mainly these days, so can't get out to where you were. Thanks Capt. Charlie.
Not really, that rug will still get hung up pretty bad. When I fished tournaments where I fished jetties I would fish 3/8oz seedless freshwater jigs, they have very good weed guards where they are less likely to get hung up, I would put a 4” gulp shrimp on the hook to keep it even more weed less. I will shoot a video about this soon watch for it!! Thanks for the question.
@@CaptCharlieThomason Awesome. Look forward to the video. Thanks for the reply. I did end up fishing by the Hopedale dam (in kayaks) with a twist lock hook and gulf shrimp which kept me from getting snagged on the bottom.
Another great video, thanks Capt. Charlie!
Your welcome!!!!
GREAT SHOW CAPT... LOVE TO GET MY LIL BOYS ON A TRIP WITH YOU..
Give us a shout when y’all are ready!!!! Captcharlie.com
Got broken off out there twice last week. Monsters everywhere! Great video.
I know, everywhere!!!
Those big boys are everywhere it hard getting animated sometimes. I think the big one chase the smaller ones away.
Are these jetties out of the MRGO? I’ve never been to them but after watching this video I would really like to go now! Thanks for the good fun videos

Are the jetties good for winter fishing too?
They can, there are a few variables like winds and water clarity but overall there will be bull reds and bull drum there year round.
@@CaptCharlieThomason thanks capt! Might try it out in this 80 degree december haha
Where y’all fish?
Along the entire northern gulf coast, mainly out of Hopedale, LA. Thanks for watching!!
@@CaptCharlieThomason How would you get there by boat? From Hopedale all the way down the MRGO or through the marsh?
