At times she would put in a strained belt and voice cracks (both usually intentional) and SoHyang would never do that, she's extremely polished and clean vocally. Mariah is one of the most well-rounded artists we've ever seen though, so I have nothing but respect for her.
Chris that's false. SoHyang's belting technique is far superior, especially on upper belts but on mid belts too. Aside from that, SoHyang's use of head voice is unmatched by Mariah as well. SoHyang's lows aren't great but neither were Mariah's, because despite her comfort in the register she still had the bad habit of lowering her larynx. The only thing Mariah has over SoHyang is her whistle register, but that's not a register in which good or bad technique can be used, so it's not relevant to how good/bad of a vocal technician someone is.
Chris Sohyang is technically superior to MC for sure (Mariah even said she never get formal vocal trained from her mom, she only took some advices from her mom) Mariah is more skillful and talented than Sohyang but vocal technique? good vocal tehnique won't kill your voice even you aged, Sohyang proves it
