Finding Seashells the Shoreline | Monster Waves Are Too Dangerous!

- I had a lovely and relaxing time today; I didn't need to worry about slipping on the rocks! The waves after the recent rain, storm, and severe winds have made the surf conditions so dangerous. I needed to stay away! Even the surfers were very hesitant to jump into the water.
I found so many wonderful scallops and a beautiful moon snail that just captured my hear. And only three cowries, what?!!
Let me know which ones were your favourites ;D and if you enjoyed this and want to see more shell finding videos, I'd appreciate a like or a comment. I read all of them and try to reply when I can. You have no idea how much of a smile you guys put on my face. Thanks everyone!

I didn't even realise that Point Cartwright and the surrounding beaches had such lovely seashells until I saw "Shellcade Shelling Down Under" - I admire him a lot, and was saddened by the news that he finished creating new shelling content on TH-cam. You can still check out his amazing videos here:

little shell at 45 second mark is Planaxis sulcatus = Tropical Periwinkle. There are colonies living on some of the rocks around Caloundra
G’day Adrian 👋🏻 Oh my gosh, you are right once again! I’m not even surprised though 😉 Thank you so much for this ID. It looked like a periwinkle to me, but I wasn’t sure about what kind (my shell book had literally only one page on periwinkles). I’ll have to try to remember that it’s a tropical periwinkle -I actually found a few for the first time yesterday. I really must look around Caloundra’s beaches one of these day, but it’s just a little too far to drive when the lovely Point Cartwright is closer 😆 As always, thank you so much for your help, and thank you for watching 🥰
The spikey limpet is awsome, the top shell was beautiful, the hairy Triton was just to cool, the coral is very unique. The colors on the scallops are so bright. I drop stuff all the time. I understand. The zebra shells are beautiful. The sundial is to cute. The crown cones are beautiful. The cowries are to cute. Thank you for such a great day of letting me shelling with you. I can never pick a favorite one. Thank you Maddie and have a great day.
G’day Toni 👋🏻❤️ Hehe, it sounds like you enjoyed all of the shells today; I’m so glad! This was a bit of a strange beach adventure, I was a bit frustrated that I could go out onto the rocks to check for other interesting shells. I also didn’t go around to the lighthouse side like usual, because I think it would have been covered in sea foam 😆 I put another out-takes video on FB if you want a little more shelling action too 😉 I forgot to mention the three cowries I picked up at the end, but they were all very nice quality ones even though I didn’t get too many. Anyhoo, I’m a bit all over the place right now 😅 Thank you so much for watching, Toni 🥰🐚
I totally understand all over the place and dropping thing often. I like all the shells everytime you go shelling. The waves did look very crazy on today's video. You have a great day. Thank you Maddie.
Thank you Toni 🥰 The wind was also a bit crazy too, I needed to hunker down on the grass at end, everything was just flying away on the rocks and picnic tables 🤣 I had a great time though! I hope you’re having an good day today too 🐚❤️🤗
Oh the Scallops today were amazing ❣️
G’day Mary 👋🏻 Looking back, I think those scallops were the best part of the whole day 🐚❤️ the bright red and orange ones are gorgeous! I don’t usually find scallops with incredibly vibrant colours like that, I was so lucky to get them 🤩 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Favorite- top snails!!! The scallops were such beautiful colors! And what luck on the hairy triton! 🍀🍀🍀 Wow, the water and waves did look really rough. Glad you decided to stay on the beach. 🌊🌊🌊 You found plenty of beauties without putting yourself in danger. 🛟 Thank you for the wonderful beach adventure! Loved all the shells! Pam🥰
Hey Pam 👋🏻❤️ Top snails again as the favourite? 😍 I’ll keep that in mind and try to pick up more for future videos if I see them 🤗 I was so surprised by the beautiful scallops, I like them a lot as well. I was frustrated that I could not check all the favourite places for goodies after the storm, but the water was really too much for me… even waves that already broke and travelled to me at shore were nearly enough to push me over 😅 absolutely scary! I’m glad you enjoyed the video, even though it was a bit less ‘adventure’ than usual, perhaps 🤔 Thank you so much for watching, and for your lovely comments Pam 🥰🐚
Wow Red is the colour of the day.
Once again thanks for a couple of Limpits
Happy Australia Day, Dirt Digger 👋🏻🤗 Hehe, those scallops were fantastic in this one ❤️ I rarely find them so vibrant. I’ll have to look out for me of them, and more limpets too! Thank you so much for sharing part of your holiday with me adventures 🥰 I hope you had a lovely day!
Limpets are my favorite
G’day Carol 👋🏻 Limpets have the most fantastic patterns 🤩, don’t they?! I’m glad you liked all the limpets today, I must be sure to pick up extra limpets on my next shell finding adventure too 🤗 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hi Maddie, Happy you stayed safe away from the rough water. I like the jewelry shell because of my seashell jewelry collection. Also, neat scaly scallop. You have so many great limpets and a lot of other seashells too. Have a good day. XXOO and hugs from Trudy
G’day Trudy 👋🏻❤️ The waves were absolutely crazy, I put a short video on Facebook with one surfer getting slammed onto the rocks a few times as he tried to get out on a wave. Anyhoo! Strange to me that my favourite shell had “common” in the name, I’ve only ever seen this shell a few times. I’ll have a relaxing day today, but looks like rain is coming back 😅 Thank you so much for watching, Trudy 🥰
I keep hoping for the waves to leave you a nice carrier shell (with lots of goodies attached). Nice finds as always! To many more great shelling adventures!
G’day Alyssa 👋🏻 Oh my goodness, wouldn’t that be something special 🐚🤩 I’d love a carrier shell with all the goodies attached! Thanks you, I can’t wait to get out again and find more shells! Looks like the weather will clear up for a bit tomorrow 🤞🏻 Thank you so much for coming along with me today 🥰🐚
