@@blueveil3277 Yea, time will tell though. I'm thinking around the 2nd anni is when everything will settle down and it will be more about mixing and matching different mechanics. I kind of expect every element to have a support like Sparkle with the up to 30% element damage and 4 star with 18% like Asta/Yukong.

Fun Fact: A few characters named Gepard, Serval, and Lynx are all The Landau siblings and they have a few details that connect them hiding in plain sight. For starters, they're all named after different cat breeds. Gepard which is German name for Cheetah. Serval being another African feline, and Lynx being a snow feline. However, Gepard and Serval are the oldest and closest in age. So, they have the more present bond in the story. That being said Serval is a huge rocker and genius inventor. I believe it's either implied or straight up confirmed that she made her own guitar that she uses as her weapon. So, if you're wondering what the hell Gepard's weapon is it's actually her guitar case and becuase of his sister's genius craftsmanship it can be used as a functioning blast shield and blunt weapon.

Serval (rocker girl) and Gepard (ice knight) are actually siblings. Serval being the oldest and Gepard the middle child. The song Gepard was singing to himself at the end of his trailer was Serval's song from her trailer. The weapon he uses aside from his fists is actually a guitar case to Serval's guitar. lol

"what was he doing here again?" That sums up argenti's story quest pretty well.
Overall hoyoverse really worked to keep pain points from Genshin out of star rail but I really hope they port over the improvements in updates as Genshin is still my favorite of the two.
Personally I prefer Star Rail's Trials of Equilibrium over Genshin's Adventurer Rank trials, I've got my Star Rail characters able to reach Level 70 whereas my Genshin characters can't get over Level 50 because of the headaches Genshin's system induces

one lil thing i love about Silver Wolf’s is that at the beginning she is just failing miserably at playing Honkai Impact 3rd, and that she’s playing as Haxxor Bunny who she’s an AU version of
Jing Yuan is one of six Generals (seven if you count the Marshal that leads them all), Dan Heng is one of five High Elders (of the dragon people). Both of them were (technically) part of a group called the High-Cloud Quintet that included Blade and Jingliu. Bailu is also a High Elder and related to the Quintet in a way.

Before even watching I knew they'd fight over kafka. That's arguably the most popular character and also (allegedly) the one trailer they spent the most budget on (since hoyo knows they'll get their money back right away)

Huohuo is a fox girl and in Star Rail they are called "Foxians" and her tail has personality because it contains a parasitic spirit called a "heliobus" sealed inside from when she was little that she named "Mr. Tail" and being called "Cursed One" due to her becoming a magnet for evil beings as a result of it.
And the juggler girl in her trailer is Guinaifen who is a street perfomer and streamer, but is also a 4* so she sadly didn't get her own cinematic trailer.

HSR has a lot of worldbuilding, which certainly makes it tricky to understand some things about the game. The "Myriad Celestia" trailers help to explain some of the worldbuilding, while "Keeping Up With Star Rail" showcases gameplay and also provides lore about each character(similar to Genshin's Collected Miscellany). The official videos have subtitles, which can make it easier to understand what the characters are saying!

Oooooh! Honkai Star Rail has been my obsession of choice for the last 8 months. Love this game so its awesome to see you two dive into it!
Huohuo's tail actually has a powerful spirit sealed inside of it. That's what was pushing her forward.
Topaz's pet and partner Numby is more like a pig. Its called a Trotter and you encounter them in game sometimes. Killing them gives bonus rewards. Also you get one to be your companion (ala Pikachu) in what is basically a Pokemon event filled with references and easter eggs to Pokemon.
Kafka's trailer is definitely a favorite of pretty much everybody. It's just loaded with epic. The fact that ingame, Kafka is a super interesting character and people went crazy when that one dropped.
Gamer Girl Silver Wolf is my personal favorite character in the game. She's a competitive type with the ability to hack reality. As an ingame example, she can transport enemies to other locations in space at whim by hacking. And honestly, she's just funny. In game, she breaks game mechanics by allowing the player to add weaknesses to enemies, like being able to make a fire monster weak against fire for example. Also that Pokemon event I mentioned? Yeah, no way Silver Wolf passes that up.
Jing Yuan DID say "Time for the Master Stroke" as in, a finishing move. Hence the giant lightning elemental he smacked the Deer with.
Gepard's weapon is actually a guitar case. His sister Serval's guitar case to be specific. Since the trailers weren't in order, his singing to himself made less sense, but he's singing his sister's song at the end.
Yanqing IS extremely young. It's not directly specified, however, he's between 8 and 14 years old. And is a species that lives for many hundreds of years. Like the General that he was playing the game with, Jing Yuan? That guy is over 700. And yes, Yanqing is a boy.
March 7th (she mostly just goes by March) was frozen inside a chunk of ice drifting in space (thats the flashback she has when touching the ice). She has no memory from before being frozen. She doesn't know her own name, her past, anything. March 7th was the day that she was found and thawed out, so the date stuck as her name. She's the energetic sweetheart of the main cast. She creates shields for allies and can freeze enemies solid so they can't move.
Ruan Mei IS a scientist. Specializing in life sciences, she tends to create new species. Those bugs? Yeah, she wanted to learn more about a disaster in the universe where these insects nearly wiped it out under the weight of their non-stop propagation. SO SHE CREATED A SUPER BUG WITH ENHANCED PROPAGATION ABILITIES. She also drugged us on our first meeting. So yeah. She's definitely a more... ambiguous character.
Dan Heng, Imbibitor Lunae's trailer is okay, but if you want something awesome with him, check out the animated shorts. He has one in there and it is freaking incredible. All the Animated Shorts are super good, but Ichor of Two Dragons? IN-FREAKING-CREDIBLE.
Bethany got the team thats going to just murderize the hell out of things. She picked up one defensive character, like every major damage dealer, and the best support in the game for damage dealers. No healers though so Jingliu is going to slowly siphon her team's life away. While Blade does the same to himself. But Gepard Shield is immense so it'll still take some work to bring her team down.
Ken got the team that will never ever under any circumstances every come even remotely close to dying, but still has the ability to kill things. Just... nowhere near as fast as Bethany. He got every healer, the best tank in the game (and in my opinion, best CHARACTER in the game because good god does Fu Xuan trivialize EVERYTHING enemies could ever hope to do) but still has Silver Wolf and HuoHuo to support the damage dealers). Also... Bailu and Fu Xuan (if you get her Eidolons) have Auto-Resurrection abilities so... even if you could die, which you can't because Bailu, Huohuo, Luocha are all healers and Fu Xuan is the most BS tank I have ever seen in a video game, you immediately are no longer dead.
Lol, Topaz is the debt collector, Jingliu was the Ice Queen that froze her enemies impaled on spikes of ice and crafted swords of icy moonlight.

In terms of the trailers Luocha's had always held a place in my heart but I also really love Kafka's, Blade's and Himako's trailers.
In terms of the in game personality Kafka and Ruan Mei are the most interesting to me since they're both kinda psychopaths in different ways with interesting motivations.
As for other videos to watch the Myriad Celestia trailers are really interesting but they are all about filling in gaps in the Lore so they can be a bit confusing without context.
Also the version trailers will give you a better idea of the overall story of the game.

I think you should definitely check out the "Keeping Up with Star Rail" videos. They are kind of like the Genshin's Collected Miscellanies in the sense that they show each character's kits in somewhat detail!

Fun fact: Himeko in her ultimate animation is sipping coffee, even though it’s a teacup. She is an avid coffee drinker and the other main cast often don’t like hiw strong she makes it. Using her ultimate in three times in a single battle gets you an achievement titled “Coffee Lover.”

When it comes down to it, characters in Honkai Star Rail can be considered counterparts to characters in Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact. With Seele and Silver Wolf being vesions of Seele and Bronya.
Plus the character Himeko has a version of herself in Honkai Impact 3rd and its implied that there's a version of her in Genshin via the Archon of Fire being known as Murata. With Murata being Himeko's last name in Impact 3rd.
And before I forget, the character of Welt in Star Rail is confirmed to be the same one from HI3rd. So he went from one universe to another.

You know what's impressive? There is a cosplayer of Guinaifen(Red haired girl in Huohuo's trailer. Name if translated literally means expensive milk powder) that is as talented as Guinaifen herself. The cosplayer is able to do a handstand on a couch while twirling two cloths with her feet and she was livestreaming it.

Fu Xuan's trailer is a bit obscure, partly because the game storyline provides a far better introduction to her and did so long before she became playable. She's basically implementing the concept of Laplace's demon: the idea that if you have perfect information about the present both the past and future can be perfectly deduced from that. Her official job is to see trouble coming and the paths around it - as well as determine which troubles are in the long term better to just confront at once. Mechanically, she functions in play as a tank who relies on avoiding (or over subjective time, retroactively rejecting) the timelines in which successful attacks happened rather than shielding or raising defenses against those attacks.
She has an interesting relationship with General Jing Yuan and Yanqing: the other two might both be considered the general's students with Fu Xuan being his most likely successor, but he takes opposite approaches to instructing them. Jing Yuan keeps Yanqing close at hand, giving him regular instruction in tactics and strategy and presumably personal combat, but while he trusts Yanqing's heart and ideals it is repeatedly made clear he does not trust Yanqing to ever fully consider the consequences of his actions before acting... and this is borne out. Yanqing is young, inexperienced, and hasn't gone through either the introspection or personal tragedies to immediately look past a potential battle to the greater war, and past the war to its consequences to the society they're protecting. In contrast, Fu Xuan - also young and inexperienced - has a full-time civilian job and is far more inclined to read. What Jing Yuan does for Fu Xuan seems to simply consist of unexpectedly turning over parts of his job - usually the tedious or unpleasant parts. He rarely provides any direct advice or instruction, letting her learn the hard way every reason she might not really want to be a general. At the same time, it's been shown that while they have disagreements, he already trusts her to do the right thing with the forces under his command and to have always looked ahead to the ultimate consequences before picking a fight. And none of his troops would even blink at receiving orders that she's taking over their command (although for morale, it probably helps that as the front lines are where she can receive the most information and make the greatest impact on the future she leads from there).
You might at some point look up the "Space Comedy" trailer, released before the game itself. It only gives you glimpses at everybody, but it does effectively introduce every character playable at release and some that weren't, whether they later got trailers of their own or not.

A fun fact: Bailu suppose to be baiheng whose among the five members of the high cloud quintet, but she died while drive her flying vehicle straight into the denizens of the abundance or the emnator of the abundance that lead to her demise, Dan heng IL or Dan feng at that time, he grieves of her death but won’t give up so find a way to bring her back but that didn’t workout.
Later on they just become separated into two while working on the project, Dan heng il is destruction character while bailu is abundance that because Dan feng able to do both thing

So to explain some about March 7th. She is one of 3 free 4 star characters you get in the story of the game (the first one in fact). She was found by the Astral Express frozen in ice, floating in space and when unfrozen and woken up, had complete amnesia. She took the date she was found as her name and takes pictures of everything so if she ever loses her memory again, she'll have a record to remind herself of what happened in the past.
Kafka's trailer is the best hsr character trailer hoyo released so far, they did not disappoint since she's a very anticipated character since the beginning of the game. Her trailer is aging like fine wine.

Lemme put a bit more things about Blade.
The flower that pops up often in his trailer? Red Spider Lilies, which often symbolize death, something he clearly does… a lot in his trailer
Thing is, Blade is more or less Immortal, as seen in the segment where he gets speared. This guy cannot die(something he does NOT appreciate) unless it’s by an Aeon.
All in all, this leads up to him being one of the most stubborn characters in the game.
All in all he’s ‘WHY WONT YOU DIE’ as a character

the ice blonde guard called Guepard is the sibling of the rocker chick.
Kafka, the gamer and Blade are part of a team called The Stellaron Hunters and are all wanted across the universe.
There are more trailers and I dont think you should watch them backwards in time since it will be way more confusing
It is the other way around, Gepard is Servals younger brother, the estimates put them at 33-35 for Serval, 25-28 for Gepard, and 16-18 for Lynx

Wait you mixed with Jingliu and Topaz...also watch keeping up with star rail, that shows more characters, or watch someone using all the characters in a video or something, because a lot of characters didn’t get trailers...also it was master stroke, and stealing pizza? No it was piece, as in board game piece...Also you could think of Huo Huo like a scaredy cat jinjuriki (from Naruto) or something similar enough.

The fact that you, due to watching most of it in reverse order, got to see Kafka before the other hunters totally killed the meta-storytelling of those trailers. I really recommend if you do those trailer marathons to actually watch them in release order. At worst it's like 2 minutes of extra work.
It really dosent matter. Nothing would change if they watch Kafka laters it’s would literally be the same regardless. They don’t even know they are a group as well

This is like saying that it doesn't matter if you start your star wars journey at episode one or seven. Are you technically correct? Yes. Of course it doesn't matter. Does it deprive you of specific, intentional things regarding it? Yes!
And while those two aren't exactly the most analytical people, why not advise for more? Maybe it actually does enhance their experience. Maybe not.
It's like maybe 1% difference at most. But it IS 1% difference :)
