This was the first asmr video I ever watched, 5 years ago. In desperation after a very traumatic event in my life, I did some googling. I wanted to find something to soothe me, like the feeling I had as a kid, watching someone coloring with crayons. I discovered asmr, and it saved me from finding some relief in a less healthy way. I hope you see this, because I wanted to say thank you!

I had no idea this was a real thing. I thought I was just an autistic weirdo because I love to just have all my pencils out (I've amassed more than 300 now .. not even including other writing and drawing utensils ... and planning to add another 50 from the Luminance line) and listen to them and play with the colors and organize them then re-organize them. More soothing than coloring, a lot of the time. Irojiten and Derwent pencils have a particularly pleasant sound for some reason.

Heather Leisure Your collection sounds lovely! :) Did you find any ideas for storing them? I just keep mine in a repurposed cardboard box, nothing terribly creative
Misha Shivers I'm trying something with a large 12x12 postbound expandable scrapbook ... but it looks like more trouble than it's worth. I'm think I'm going to end up breaking down and buying 3 of those 120 global art cases
The pencils I do not keep in their sets I store in Sterlite small drawer containers by color. I have one that is 5 drawer and 1 that is three. Ideally I will have one more set of three.

Same here! I LOVE coloring with my pencils; I have pretty much every Crayola pencil to date. But something about sorting them in their right places in the right box is so satisfying. One time I accidentally spilled my bag after I had them all organized but for some reason was not unhappy to do it all again… happy coloring ✏️

Aretha Clark That sounds like something that people call misophonia. It's something I experience as well. I don't think anyone knows for sure what causes it.
Misha Shivers ok I will research that. Thank you for your reply! I have many sounds that make me cringe or just uncomfortable. Some I know for sure are associated with some abusive things from my childhood. Others, I've no clue.

I obviously am missing the point of this video. Anyone with normal vision can sort pencils by color. Some verbal explanation as to why you chose the color combinations you did would be helpful. This video was a waste of my time.
Ruby Wiens I apologize for any confusion. This video was made for the purposes of relaxation. Some people are soothed by gentle and methodical movements.
