    Put it in the capi 2, should fit with a squeeze or a small cutout in the wing bay now that the pwm out pins are on top. I have a PH in capi 2, had to slice a cm out the wing bay to get it in because of the pin headers.

    Thank you, again your video saved my build. This new build is around the Tarot 650, was considering using a clone Pixhawk 4, but with needing a PDB and seeing that many had restrictions of maximum of a 4S battery, trying to find ways of getting power to the FC, wiring, keeping wiring safe and isolated and all the other components, I have to say it was overwhelming, HolyBro is the simple choice, lets hope the build goes as well

    Everyone complain about the price. But this is Pixhawk and Ardupilot, with this recent model it has so many possibilities with that processing power. You should see development team such as Randy Mackay, lots of cool stuff. Not gonna saying that other flight controller is bad, but to me Ardupilot based one are the best. Also, very nice review , sooner than i expected : )

    • @stevejones9044
      @stevejones9044 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was one of those complainers. I thought I could piece together something from a different FC which according to Ardupilot (assuming I was going to use that fw) had a bunch of them to choose from including the popular Omnibus and SPRacing FCs. And I could but the Pixhawk just had everything I wanted including camera gimbal control output ability and it appears super easy to set up and use. iNav is also another choice especially with their mission planning ability but Ardupilot Mission Planner is just very mature. I'm going to try something on a S500 frame using Pixhawk 4 from Holybro.

Should I blindly go for HolyBro Latest Pixhawk 4 Flight Controller instead of looking into a 2.4.8 (for example)? • @aeroakram
    @aeroakram 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Firstly, I would like to thank you for your quick review/comparison. It would be great if you are able to clarify a doubt: I believe it's an xt60 connector on the stock power distribution board. Typically, my quadplanes tend to pull high amperage at certain times, so I was wondering if this xt60 connector is supposed to handle the whole current input?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Xt60 connectors are used on models that pull a lot more than the 60 amps that they are rated 4. If the current demand is in short bursts then it's not a problem at all. If you're worried you can always replace it with an xt90 connector.

    • @aeroakram
      @aeroakram 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Painless360 I wasn't concerned just about the xt60 connector but also the potential limitation it somewhat indirectly implied on current sensing. I just found out from 3dxr website that it can sense current up to 120A, so that's pretty cool!

    Wow... F7, really? 😮
    It's looking fantastic! But I'm curious about how to put it inside a quad, since it's not stackable. But... Well, you can always put a pvc board over the PDB (making holes and using standoffs) and fixing it above with double sided tape. (Just a detail: pvc board must be made at home, I don't think it's sold anywhere. But it's really easy to make from a piece of pipe.)

    • @Toxicity1987
      @Toxicity1987 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doesn't need to be stackable because its not for small quads. I have a 10" Quad with an Pixhack and so much space for everything. Nothing stacked on that. If you want something from the PX4 series for small quads, look at the Pixracer, which is stackable.

    • @austntexan
      @austntexan 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's so funny reading comments from pilots who've gotten into quads during the the mini phase. "What?! There are quads bigger than 250mm!?"

  • @gizmoguyar
    @gizmoguyar 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So it's now 2 years later. The Pixhawk 4 is still the latest and greatest, and it's still extremely expensive - $250 shipped with the PDB, and GPS that is basically mandatory. Alternatively you can still buy the enigmatic no name Pixhawk 2.4.8s from china with all the accessories (including telemetry radios) for less than $150. Yes, the the Pixhawk 4 has more outputs, more memory, and is quite a bit faster. But so what? is that really going to translate into increased performance for your average hobby plane or drone? Is it really worth the extra $120-$150? I'm fairly new to the Pixhawk scene (coming from Betaflight racing drones) so I'm trying to make sense of it all. Does anyone think it's worth it to get the 4?
