My cat got diagnosed and I was surprisingly happy to hear that because the other concern was his liver which is more complicated to deal with. He started his treatment on Thursday on we both have gotten used to the schedule that we have now. He does really well when I give him his needles. He comes to me willingly for it, he sits still when I give him his shot and it’s done. After that he gets cuddles, his breakfast or dinner and praise.

I found this whole series very helpfull and informative, thank you for making it! Our 21 year old cat has been diagnoses with diabetes 2 years ago, we gave insuline shots for 2 months then his body took over again and the glucose level went down, and then it was enough to just give him the diabetic food.
Since 2 weeks his glucose has gone up again so we are back to the injections, but he is feeling better already.
When you first have to deal with diabetes its a scary and complicated disease, and you are afraid to do anything wrong, so videos like this can really be very helpfull.

The only symptoms my cat had were increased thirst and profound weakness. She acted normal, ate normally and had no weight loss.

My cat is 9, she lost 3 lbs (making her 9lbs) which was very noticeable to us, could feel her bones and stuff. She didn’t seem unhappy, the exact opposite actually- she was more cuddly than usual and drinking a lot. Thank god I had a following, I asked if anyone knew what was going on and they noted it could be diabetes so I convinced my mom to get her tested. Results came back today and she is in fact diabetic. I’m just so anxious about it. I love her sm, but at least we did catch it pretty early

My cat got diagnosed and was told she needed insulin forever. Gave her the shots for couple years before I left her to my mother who stopped giving it to her without me knowing. Been 4 years and she's still alive. Acts the same.

Not enough info. If the cat has ketoacidosis, then additional monitoring and IV fluids are usually needed.

Cats are obligate carnivores & should not eat kibble ( carbs a big problem) put them on raw or high quality canned + a chromium supplement & there's a chance for remission.
The conventional vets are not doing their jobs very well, I'm afraid.

My cousin's cat and my sister's cat both got diabetes without eating kibble or cereal. Both cats mostly ate what they caught until they were ill. Just like type 2 in humans, not all of it is diet caused.

Please help. I have been devastated over the past several years losing 5 FURRY CHILDREN. I have one left who is my world and he is a special needs kitty. He has an average apatite, will NOT drink fluids ( I am assuming his constant wet cat food diet provides him with adequate hydration) but sometimes he shakes uncontrollably (small and rapid) he is 80% blind, can't climb or jump, and has poor balance, but he is loved everyday with hugs and kisses and all kinds of attention. He is in no pain whatsoever. Do you have any idea what I can do to help his shaking? My gut tells me I need to feed him 4 times a day rather than 2. Vets look at him as if he needs to be "put down." This attitude only pisses me off. He is happy, healthy, and loved so much. I just need help on this issue. Thank you for taking the time to read this long post. Any help would be appreciated.

Feed him as much as he wants to see how he does. You love him very much. Let me know if you try this and how well he is doing.

The canned food in the dry food that fed all of the ingredients they have that's how they could get a diabetes I'm not a doctor however I think my opinion give him natural food I'm going to keep on looking at this video

If my cat eats the natural food, I would feed her regardless of the cost. But she has zero interest in natural food like fresh meats but just dry food. For her health, I do force feed her canned food once a day.

Little TwinS my cats are same they seem to prefer dry food. But one of my cats is diabetic so I got rid of dry food other than for a small treat. Or you can get these cat food balls they have to push around and food falls out of small holes.
