We live in Europe.. Still feel like these are amazing information to double check before a Trip to any European country.... very detailed.. keep doing.. Thanks for sharing
Hi I am going for a trip of South Africa, pl suggest is it better to take full insurance while booking a car through web site or its better to buy during picking up car from rental desk. What is cheaper and better option. Which Car company is good in Cape town amongs Hertz, Avis, Euro Car etc. And at last you narrates very well and provides very good tips. Pl keep it up. Thanks
Thank you so much ☺️ I would highly recommend taking insurance through the website as it will be a little cheaper than purchasing it at the counter. We have had good experience with all the 3 companies you mentioned- we don’t have a preference here and go by the ratings/reviews of the car for that particular location. Whichever company and car has best ratings and more reviews we pick that car.
Very useful. Thanks for the guidance. How did you find the roads especially the hilly ones? I am planning to travel to Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany and Austria through car. Is average speed of 100 km/hr possible in these journeys?
Just 1 question , if we are in need to cross international borders but havent mentioned at the time during our visa application, would it matter? For eg from salzburg to Innsbruck you may or may not need to cross german border but I have no plans to visit germany? How should I proceed?
For Visa? Once you get your Visa it doesn’t matter which all places you visit within the Schengen region. If you are asking about additional cost related to border crossing in your rental car then you need to inform them when picking up the car that you plan to cross border . They’ll tell you about additional charges that you need to pay.
If you picked the rental car in Austria itself you don’t need to buy separately. But please confirm once at the counter when picking up the car. It’s required to be bought when car was rented from one country & you are driving in another country which has vignette requirements.
From which city did you rent the car and where did you drop it? I am planning to rent it in Salzburg and drop it in Vienna however the cost is very high
Hey! In Austria we picked and dropped the car in Salzburg itself. Yeah renting a car in Austria can be expensive. Why don’t you use trains to go from Salzburg to Vienna? Much cheaper & anyways you don’t need a car for a Vienna sightseeing. We then picked another car in Croatia & dropped it in Slovenia for which we had to pay one-way drop charges.
@@Trippylens_ yes thought of the same.. However one day rental for pick up and drop in Salzburg for an automatic transmission is coming to 13k.. Also with insurance and fuel it will be around 20k..only purpose was to travel from Salzburg to hallstat and nearby areas.. So contemplating if it's worth it
@@mihirbabaria6459 you might want to check for Salzkammergut day trips on getyourguide. That might come out cheaper & they’ll take you to all the places you want to cover including Hallstatt.
@@sheetalcholkar4707Don't book any tours for hallstatt. Just take the bus pass worth 30 Euros and directly travel. You can easily travel on foot in Hallstatt. Also, stay in hallstatt is very expensive so you can stay in areas near hallstatt such as Gosau. However you'll be bored after one day
If you are only covering Hallstatt half day should be enough as it’s a very small village. Staying in Hallstatt depends on how many days you have, I feel! If you have more days you can make it a base for a day and explore the nearby areas or just continue to stay in Salzburg and take day trips!

Nice vlog! Did you need IDP to drive in Austria or did your Indian DL suffice?
We carried IDP but it was never checked. They only asked for our Indian License.

Ohh the roads were lovely even the hilly ones! We drove at 150km/hr on highways and easily around 70-80km/hr on hilly roads just to be safe
very nice❤️
Thanks 😊
Does the additional driver needs to present his/her credit car as well?
Nope. Credit card has to be in the main driver’s name.
Splendid!
Thank you!

On Getyourguide they have a half day tour to hallstatt...is that much time enough? What if we plan to stay in hallstatt? Is it worth ?

HI i wanted to know how would they know that multiple drivers drove the car after paying for one driver.????😅
They wouldn’t unless you are stopped somewhere and they ask for rental car papers and your DL. Then they might find out 😄
Suggest car rental company in austria
Avis, Budget, Europacar, Enterprise are good rental companies.
