I'm American and he is right about pronunciation of Sanskrit mantras. I studied Sanskrit for over a year before I could properly use a manta. It takes a good ear too of course to gauge sounds. But most americans are not very deep with anything besides eating and drinking, facebook, etc. Most here follow trends then drop them. If you want to know Gayatri please listen to Pandit Shri Ram Sharma Acharya ji, no one can explain better than him on Gayatri. He has done 24 Mahapurshcharan for 24 years, each year 24 lakh mantra, he was on Jau Roti and Chaach, which does not constitute Salt, Sugar etc.

I need more clarification. Why was listening and chanting the Gayatri Mantra by this lady so damaging? Was it simply because of mispronounciation? I have a recording and love this Mantra.
@@alanagavin466 Mantras are basically sounds that attract certain energies . Many of these mantras contains sounds that donot have any specific meaning but reciting those words in a certain tone with correct pronunciation can lead you to the object you are looking for. By wrongly reciting those words you may attract energies that are not conducive for you. Think of mantras as radio frequencies . If you tune into the right frequency you get the desired channel you are looking for else no.

@@wang8396Gayatri is the essence of all Vedas. It's perhaps the most powerful mantra in Vedic system. Read Charles W Leadbeater's and Swami Vivekananda's explanation regarding its power. Even Buddha mentioned it multiple times.
I had lost my voice for 3 whole years (before I knew of Sadguru) and I brought it back completely only with silent gayatri chanting, neck and other asanas, pranayama, and kundalini dhyana.
I don't think what Satguru said about Gayatri mantr is correct. No one can be physically harmed - like losing your voice - by reciting Gayatri mantr, how-so-ever badly the pronunciation may be. The lady was distressed for some other reason. Satguru eased her mind.

The way he speaks itself shows how active he spiritually is. Many of us speak without being conscious of what we speak. But guru is just feeling his spirits and energy flowing through him while he speaks, and interacts. Marvelous!

When my spirit lead me to chanting and mantras, one of the few first mantras I was attracted spiritually was Gayantri Mantra, and when I listened it first time I was so deeply touched soul wise and energetically as I kept listening and chanting it for days in a row , my soul didn't have enough of it and I was crying at times while chanting it like a child, I still chant it to this days at times, thank you Sadhguru for this wonderful video and explanation of this amazing soul changing mantra.

I don’t think Sadguru got a chance to speak enough (or anything) about the mantra in this video. Or maybe video editing reduced the content. I have practiced Gayatri for many years and the impact of the mantra is much more spiritually profound. This is one mantra that kept the spirituality alive for thousands of generations in India. I’d like to hear more about the mantra from Sadguru. He has brought amazing clarity about many seemingly complicated practices and I feel blessed to be able to listen and experience a bit of him. But this one did not impress me.

There's no harm in chanting Gayatri mantra. If you all guys just knew only a little bit of sanskrit and understood the meaning you'd understand what it is meant for. Gayatri is not taught by some gurus but our own fathers in the Vedic rituals. It's that simple. He is simply saying all big words like tantric and that and this to hide his limited knowledge. Anyway I'm not here to to say anyone is good or bad. I speak only on what I have knowledge about and definitely don't claim that I can speak on any topic in the world.

If listen carefully what Sadguru said, you must know how to pronounce correctly the Sanskrit words in gayathri mantra. Otherwise don’t chant it. Otherwise it’s really powerful mantra to rework intelligence. Vedic mantra is science and cannot go wrong anyway unless not deeply understood.
Actor Govinda said in one of his old interview when he was young he started chanting gaytri mantra daily 3 or 4 hour and after that he will get success and become famous actor

In your translation you forgot to mention "may we meditate on the adorable light of divine Savita who unfolds our buddhies (intuitions)". All verbs and pronouns are in plural form, meaning the prayer is for all mankind. This makes it the most powerful (full of shakti) mantr. It's not an easy mantr to recite as it's full of symbolism and requires a certain attitude on the part of the worshipper. Good luck.

I started reciting the Gayatri mantra in the morning for 3 days now. Before my Upa yoga practice I recite Gayatri Mantra facing the sun and today I felt I am doing something is not proper and instead of reciting the mantra 3 times I stopped at first and started doing my Upa Yoga practice. And then in the afternoon, I saw this video. I feel so blessed that divine is guiding me somehow. Sadguru and team please can you bring up the video of how to practice the Gayatri mantra? Thanks.

If you want to know Gayatri please listen to Pandit Shri Ram Sharma Acharya ji, no one can explain better than him on Gayatri. He has done 24 Mahapurshcharan for 24 years, each year 24 lakh mantra, he was on Jau Roti and Chaach, which does not constitute Salt, Sugar etc.
