Today, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the Opposition in Parliament. His criticism was mainly directed towards the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi. PM Modi called the Congress party a "parasite" for its allies and accused them of spreading lies. The Prime Minister also took an indirect jibe at the Opposition leader by calling him "Baalak Buddhi", which loosely translates to childish behaviour. This comes after, Rahul Gandhi delivered his first speech after being appointed as the Leader of Opposition yesterday. In his speech, the Congress leader levelled multiple allegations against the Government. He also said that “those who call themselves Hindus talk about violence”. His controversial remarks stirred an uproar in Parliament and even led to a rare intervention by PM Modi. Unlike 2014 and 2019, the Opposition has a stronger presence in the Indian Parliament. This means that the Government will be challenged a lot more than before. On Vantage tonight, Palki Sharma tells you more.
