    That was an epic weld and fabrication job. What a job Neil, you should be well chuffed with yourself for achieving what many would not have started, incredible job.

      @@ItaliaAutos probably not at 20... but now? Probably. Someone has to save them. I have a mk2 Golf Gti that I'll never sell, and a 156 that will probably be a keeper too. Just need the big garage to keep them all in.

    Sorry got confused, the Fiat has been welded for three years, and this is the situation still. I think it must be rusting faster than you can lay a weld on it 😅 Cracking vidjeos, please continue Sir.

      Just the last 10 min was new. As its been a few years though it was best to edit them together.

  • @johnteahan2333
    @johnteahan2333 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    For that sill panel you should have ground off the zinc coating around all the joint areas prior to welding, it contaminates the weld but also produces a nasty gas that you don’t want to be breathing in.
    Great work bringing this back, you just don’t see a punto GT anymore, or any mk1 punto for that matter

    With the 155’s the fuel issue could be caused by some rusty connectors of the fuel relais. By wiggleling the connectors of the fuel pump relais could help to diagnose that problem.

    For welding the sills. It may have helped to put a joggled edge on. The risk is that it creates a water trap.

    • @ItaliaAutos

    My Punto engine would not start. I replaced the crank sensor. Cheap to replace, fits low down on the engine case near the bottom of the crank. Doug.

    A suggestion for italian fans: Take a Fiat Punto of any generation and show us how to make a complete engine service.
    I'd also love to see a Fiat Uno Mk1 being restored.
