Good stuff Shawn. Informative and despite the conditions, I thought the video quality was quite good. As long as your channel remains focused on your business, I like the idea of occasionally taking us into the deep or on the trail. Thank you
YES!!! Personal is just fine! It looks like a LOT of fun, and I've been living under a rock because I never knew we had a U-Boat sink in USA waters! Wow!! Thanks for sharing! 👍👍👏👏👏👏
Enjoyed the video, thanks for posting Shawn. I have done a bit of diving, mainly in Indonesia. Diving in that part of the world is great as the water is warm and normally clear as opposed to around the UK where it is distinctly 🥶. One of my favourite dives of all time was in to the wreck of the USS Liberty in Bali. We went inside at night as well, that was a bit scary fortunately we had a very experienced guide.
Shawn, I'm a first time commenter on your videos. I really enjoy them. I am also a Scuba diver as well. I'm on the west coast so any videos are a great source of info for me. Please post more Scuba videos please. Thanks and keep diving! P.S. I saw plenty of Full Bubbles on that dive. 😉
Thanks for commenting Cycle Nut! This is my best diving video (from my personal channel) th-cam.com/video/HM8lXgoyr9Q/w-d-xo.html I was supposed to do a White Shark dive in 2020 off So CA but that's been moved to 2022 so that will be my first time diving in the pacific.
Good for the USCG for taking it to the Nazi's on this sub. The Icarus, a 165-foot USCG Cutter, depth charged it until it surfaced. Once it surfaced, they noticed the crew coming out of the conning tower so they opened up on them with the heavy machine guns. They Icarus left the scene and came back an hour later to rescue the 33 that survived. Can't imagine how gnarly things got right off the cost of NC during WWII.
Keep these videos coming. I will take the variety. We have been going to the OBX for years. We have now moved to Arkansas so I am not sure we will have the yearly, or twice a year trip. Seeing this trip off the NC coast was nice.
I enjoyed that, keepem coming, flew my drone last month off my boat at sea, smooth seas but big swell, very tense moments launching and recovery, every time the swell would come the drone would surge up finally had to force land, tried to hand catch it didn’t work, won’t do that again😱
Same Robert. The boat was moving and the drone didn't like that... it takes a few seconds for the force landing and the boat would move by then. It was scary!
Shawn, Bring it on. It was a niece change of pace. I grew up on the east coast of New Jersey with the Atlantic ocean on my doorstep. The fishing business. My father used to take divers out and they would go to fishing wrecks and bring back lobsters. Occasionally they would see a whale but not very often. BTW, shark tastes like scallops. Thanks for sharing.Ken
What an interesting video Shawn. Despite the murky conditions the footage came out really well. I wonder what secrets are still within the wreck? Maybe even an Enigma machine? I’m pleased to hear though that it’s respected as a war grave. The Moray and yellow fish really shone in the light from your torch, and the Barracuda looked menacing! Thank you so much for sharing this with us all. 👍🏻
@@GCFD I’ve seen it, great film however were you aware that the 1st Enigma machine was captured from U-110 by British sailors from HMS Bulldog in May 1941?
@@dylantrinder1571 I thought the British captured the first one! I don’t get too worried when films like that are not 100% accurate. They are not called documentaries

I guess thats why I watch you and other youtubers who have similar smooth voices. relaxing. like AvE, lockpicklawyer, bigclive, drainaddict, techmoan etc etc. hope you upload some biology video one day, after hearing that you taught biology in that other video comment section.
Very cool, didnt know you were into diving (have not looked at other channel) Thats a lot of bait fish & that Jelly was a little too close for comfort, my brother got tangled up with a man-o-war when he was about 7 and he paid the price of pain for weeks after that. The yellow colored Angel i believe it was, took the 'cameo from the Eel. Great stuff...Just brings the realization of history with things like this.
Steering Committee here! A few points to note for this type of video, Shawn. Point 1: personally, I really enjoy documentaries and this had that kind of a vibe to it. Point 2: anything that shows a shark is OK by me. Point 3: I really enjoy your style of videos. You are interesting to listen to and have calm, peaceful attitude about you. Point 4: when are you putting up another dive video? This one was really interesting. 😊 PS...I only found out recently that Moray Eels have a secondary jaw inside their mouth/thoat and I thought that was awesome and scary at the same time. Beautiful creatures too.
Thank you for the points Tracy! I have been on NC wrecks with lots of sharks but didn't see any that weekend. I have some footage of sand tiger sharks getting pretty close. So cool! My next video will be a rail trail I rode in eastern PA and there is a lot of history behind it as well. I will try to keep the documentary style to the video. Hey there. Thanks for the video. How was the boat movement at the dive site? I ask because the older I get the more sea sick I am getting with boat dives.
