LMAO! I just got a new (clean) monitor and noticed it right away! Came back to watch this vid cuz I actually pulled off this move my first try in pickup after barely practicing it a few times before the game. Dunno, came naturally to me and very effective against pickup "defenders".
I just want to say that when I first started watching AND1 and all of that I thought it was garbage and just a bad influence on young ballers and teaching them bad habits. I've done a complete 180 after watching Professor. There's definitely useful stuff to add to your game. The problem I had originally was young kids that weren't strong enough with basic ball handling skills and opposite hand skill doing moves they had no business trying and it led to a bunch of turnovers and angry teammates. You've got to be very strong with both hands, behind the back, through the legs, etc. before doing this stuff. If you're still losing the dribble even once in awhile on those basics then you aren't ready for these. These are next gen moves. It's a pleasure to learn them from probably the best handler ever, IMO. Thanks Prof. You are indeed the man.
King Kunta YES! Altho about last last last month, I already broke a guy's ankles doing this move. And now I learned how to utilize this move better-thanks to this vid-I'm excited for another game next time. I hope I break another guy's ankles lol
Great video! If you don’t mind me making a suggestion, I think adding the tip “Roll, left, right.” and “Roll, right, left” would help. If you’re planning to shamgod left it’s “Roll right hand, step left, plant right.” If you’re planning to shamgod right it’s “Roll left hand, step right, plant left.” Hope that helps!
Great video! This helped me lots… I used to be terrible and get excluded in basketball but now I'm practicing a lot with my handles. Appreciate it! Keep up the great work!
Thank you for introducing me to this beautiful art. And much respect to you and BC for promoting the heart the game in a way that brings the positivity this world so desperately needs! Godspeed to you and your family.
homie back when i was in highschool i used study and practice your style. all the classic And1 mixtapes. that was up to the point i got expelled from school.
The Professor added his own sauce to it, he kept it closer to the body and kinda bumped it off his thigh a little, which made it even more unpredictable. A gift from God for all the small guards.
Many crossover connoisseurs credit 80’s Croatian baller Danko “El Killer del Perimetro” Cvjeticanin as the inventor of the move but Dragan Kicanovic - a Cibona teammate of the late great Drazen Petrovic and members of the FIBA Hall of Fame - was doing it years earlier. Then years later dejan bodriga did it.
Kudos for mentioning Bodiroga... although even before him there was another guy from Yugoslavia that used this move, his name was Danko Cvjeticanin. Bodiroga learned this move from him
the only basketball vids i consistently watch..been watchi g him since he dressed up as spiderman and from then on jst learned more and more about him..much repsect.keep living your dream!
Marco Guzzardi lol jelly!! If you wanna learn how to put spin on your lay ups just stand under the hoop and practice spinning lay ups off the backboard w both hands
No problem bro, itll get easier. Practice with both hands, above your head and under handed. Then try it in stride after your comfortable doing it standing still. That's how I got good at it
Imma have tonslow this all the way down and take a day off of work to effectively pull this move off. Growing up playing basketball, I never knew how they executed this move 🙆🏾♂️...
Yes indeed a very effective move, didn't know someone else had a similar move to the Shamgod. That other dude didn't do the exact same thing, but yeah I see why you would compare the two as the change in direction is identical as is the footwork.
back in the late 90s when i was younger that was my go to move. broke alot of people ankles with that. never forget god shamgod. that dude and ai were my role models.
Hey Professor! I'm just a beginner and I'm not that good, but I have a strong passion for basketball. I don't know if I'll ever be good as you. Were you bad like me when you first started? And also do you have any tips for me so I can become a good basketball player like you? Thanks and I hope you can respond to this comment. I really love basketball and you are my inspiration.
You can also Fake the Shamgod By letting it role in that direction but instead of switching with other hand you keep going with a extra dribble after rolling it off,
I have a variation of this move- I put the ball behind my back with my right hand and bring it back and do the shammgod with my right hand as well. It's a lot of fun to do ;)
Broke my own ankles while trying to do it, like always.Sad.

Totally in love with this move, simply and effective, even for a non-skilled player like me!
QUickly..
A moment of silence for those ankles we are about to break
.....
King Kunta Don't you mean a moment of silence for the people who broke their own ankles trying to do the move?
King Kunta YES! Altho about last last last month, I already broke a guy's ankles doing this move. And now I learned how to utilize this move better-thanks to this vid-I'm excited for another game next time. I hope I break another guy's ankles lol
King Kunta I've been doing a shit version of this move and it's been working so now that I know how to do it properly it's lit
ok they can always heal the ankles. but knowing me after I break em I'll snatch em from you xD
Great video! If you don’t mind me making a suggestion, I think adding the tip “Roll, left, right.” and “Roll, right, left” would help. The original move popularized by Dejan Bodiroga is actually called El Latigo (The Whip).
Professor was ok he is no baby shaq , skip to my Lou, or hot sauce or bone collector but he ok.
Dejan Bodiroga played in 90's and 2000's. Ask Carmelo Anthony...
The Professor added his own sauce to it, he kept it closer to the body and kinda bumped it off his thigh a little, which made it even more unpredictable. A gift from God for all the small guards.
Is it just me because as soon as I saw the thumbnail, I thought that it was already an old video because the thumbnaill really looks old af

Fantastic breakdown video, including the historical video clips. Great stuff as always, Professor!!
I usually don't find your tutorials that helpful but this one was actually broken down very well nice job man
So it is Bodiroga move.
Thank you for mentionig the legend Bodiroga. :D
bodiroga was a european legend!
I've been telling people, Shammgod didn't invent that move, he just made popular in America.
Dejan Bodiroga Is from Serbia :D
Thanks for mentioning Bodiroga. He was indeed the first one to use this move in a game.
Thank you, you have taught me many moves that I use like the baseline behind the back
The fact that I originally got my handles watching and1 tapes and now get to again years later is astonishing.
you're the only one who looks back after doing a move, that makes you special.
the only basketball vids i consistently watch..been watchi g him since he dressed up as spiderman and from then on jst learned more and more about him..much repsect.keep living your dream!
The way he be looking back and shit on the layup like this wasnt a tutorial be having me dead

Marco Guzzardi lol jelly!! If you wanna learn how to put spin on your lay ups just stand under the hoop and practice spinning lay ups off the backboard w both hands
Itz Akuma thank you!!!!
No problem bro, itll get easier. Practice with both hands, above your head and under handed. Then try it in stride after your comfortable doing it standing still. That's how I got good at it
The Professor is The Best! I have to find your contact to come visit my clients, they would love it.
THAT SHIRT THOUGH! That is such a great film!!
Imma have tonslow this all the way down and take a day off of work to effectively pull this move off. Growing up playing basketball, I never knew how they executed this move 🙆🏾♂️...
Broke me my head, wrist and fingers trying to wipe screen off....DAMN UR GOOD !!! LMFAO
Yes indeed a very effective move, didn't know someone else had a similar move to the Shamgod. That other dude didn't do the exact same thing, but yeah I see why you would compare the two as the change in direction is identical as is the footwork.
FPC-Virtual its not similar, shamgod copy bodiroga el latigo (whip) move
I highly doubt that
Good! Finally smbd giving credits to Bodiroga.
I also think he was the first guy doing this in regular games at top level leagues.
Hey Professor can you do a tutorial about the streetball move where you wrap the ball around your back then make it go through your legs. Please!!
Dudeski 456 Yea I like that move too
Dudeski 456 I think it's called the crazy leg and I think he's done it

Dude u too good at ball to have ur hair looking like this man
""Mi imamo jednog boga , zove se Dejan Bodiroga "" :) , the words crowd would sing on his games. He was among else very passionnant player
I do it at the 3 point line to create space for a drive. I push the ball forward on the top of the ball and pull it back.
the overhand move is much more effective than the underhand roll out for shamgod
That shirt!!! The professor always has beautiful shirts all the time!!!!
Damn the move was so good that proffesor ankle breaked me through my screen
I love how professor always look at the player while running twords the basket.
back in the late 90s when i was younger that was my go to move. broke alot of people ankles with that. never forget god shamgod. that dude and ai were my role models.
