- Good morning. I got a tweet from someone who was learning one of my solos. She did fine till the end where gets a little quick. So here's a quick lesson for the solo to 18 And Life from the first Skid Row disk. I also added an an alternate ending that is slower and tasty. Filmed on location at one of my various man caves.

How cool!! I wish this kind of resource was available back in '95 when I started playing. I could only imagine one of my many guitar heroes basically throwing me a personal lesson, coolest thing ever!! Good luck, girl from South America!!
I turned 18 the summer of '89 when this song hit and cruising around in my 1971 Chevelle CRANKING this song from my Alpine cassette deck lol. This song was my anthem, major part of my history. Thanks Scotti!

This is still one of my favorite solos ever. Man, I remember when we did this one, classic.
I just learnt this solo yesterday...and now this! Honestly, I find the "play really fast" ending easier than the other one - but it is supremely cool to learn the alternate version from he horses mouth. So when I play it that way, and people say ,"What gives", I've got an iron clad permission slip in my back pocket.

Then there is this dude...Has to be one of the best "melodic" guitar solo players, maybe my favorite of all time. He knew how to make the solo the best part of the song, very rare for me.
Totally agree with it. Many great guitar players can play, but Scott Hill really knows how to create a real dynamic in a song with his solos.
Talk about a seiiously under rated guitarist! Neither Scotti or Snake have ever gotten the recognition they deserve. This clip was a tremendous help to me, turns out I've been playing that quick run up just before the very last lick wrong for the past 25 years. Same notes, wrong position. This made it so much easier. Thanks Scotti!!!

Scotti has a great way of teaching his solos. Amazing teacher. I'd love for him to be my guitar teacher any time, that's for sure because he breaks it all down the right way.
Scotti has been known humble n modest man. Yet he is the coolest in the band since beginning. After all I always miss skid row 1st formation. Best rock n roll band EVER!
I know this is an older comment, and you probably wont read my response.... but yes, yes he is. We had the pleasure of opening for Skid Row in Atlanta many years ago and I went "fan boy" for a minute and he said "oh hell no man, thank YOU for being here! Let me buy you a drink".

Like others who share this attribute, you can ALWAYS tell WHO is behind the strings because of the SOUL that reflects / reverberates within our semicircular canal / cochlea that reminds us subconsciously / immediately of who is behind those strings... That is LEGENDARY my friends, as it spans throughout the genres...
