No, you can't right any number, because every number describes the type of Product or Service you are providing to clients.
If you dont know the HSN/SAC Number of any product you can check it from google or from our gst websites mentioned below.

sir humko stock item add karne mein problem ho rha hai. jab bhi hum opening mein click karte hain to ...ek dusra box khul jata hai. any solution ?
Go to Master > Opening Balance > Stock Opening > Press Enter for select item > Feed quantity > Then feed mrp > Then rate > If you maintain secondary stock then feed "Batch/ Ref." Details > Press "End" key > Then open trading window appear for manual opening > Save.

AM Channel but when we entered opening stock from there than if we do purchases of stock same stock with different amount , then our opening stock value changes in profit & loss....

how to insert batch no parmanetly
insert New Batch in Item process -->
Go to Master > Inventory Master > item window is appear > then press Insert key on selected Item > then feed batch and then press enter > press End key for Save
Tally is the good software. this is the very confusing software I think
you are right tally is the best software

Tally is the good software. this is the very confusing software I think
Tally is best for account management but for inventory management marg and busy is better. Marg has so many extra features than tally
