…if this gets fully completed, I’m gonna figure out how to Homebrew/rivolution my first-gen 3DS so I can play this rom-hack.
It's quite easy if you follow the steps carefully, and it works on any 3ds to my knowledge. Now that the 3ds is basically out of service, it wouldn't hurt to unlink your Nintendo network ID if it is linked to a Nintendo account and go for it! Just don't promote piracy. Play only games/hacks of games you actually own.
It's quite easy nowadays. Just follow the latest text guide and you'll have no problems.
Could also just get a flash card if you want

This hack has been in development longer than both 64's and 64 DS's development combined.
Its actually very surreal to see this project at last (i know its a demo). The first time i followed this i was still in school aged 13, now im 25.

i wish he would call it "Super Mario Star World DS" because "Super Mario Star World" is going to be hard to google.
Mario 64 DS does have a sort of joystick control, but you have to use the touch screen. I'm surprised nobody has found a way to mod in a real stick to use that functionality!
I'm pretty sure if you just use a 3DS, it has a joystick.
Think it Will still see it as a d-pad (the 3ds joystick) because ( I forgot when it was made) the original ds and ds lite so on did not have a joystick... Soo it was on the screen for movements cuz you yes CAN HOWEVER use BOTH d-pad and joystic on the 3ds BUT HOWEVER they both register as the same thing... The d-pad no joystick controll was ever implemented into said d-pad movements.... If you can understand what I'm saying and meaning...@@Thatonefuckinguy
@@Kimmarly-v4p agreed, when the 3ds plays ds games, the stick just gets translated into d-pad commands, but I believe for this particular game a mod could be created where it takes a stick input and translates it to touch screen input. Actually, it probably wouldn't be hard to use some sort of ds emulator with a program that turns joystick input into mouse movement. I know they have stuff like that for bluestacks.
There is a mod on the Wii U VC version that implements the gamepad's joystick and one for the 3DS's Circle Pad. Even then, it runs absolutely fine without it.
Mabie you can try the new stick control mappings... If your good with that sort of things try it out! you can do it if you can @@mike1024.

I was not at all expecting the Koopaseum music, it's so underrated
I've played a little bit of the original Star Road, and I did not know that a DS port was being made. This looks very accurate to the original as far as I could tell, as well as the additional extras (like the new boss in the first world). I'm looking forward to seeing what else is going to be added in the future.

I think he said he beat cancer completely and it hasn’t come back (yet at least) so it’s all great news! Now he’s back to modding which is why this came out now

What kind of emulator are you using? I noticed there is texture filtering, which isn't possible on DS and isn't on most emulators.
It's a shame that the dev has been such an awful person considering how cool this looks.
Even with d-pad controls I feel like this has to be worth a play

They got rid of the 100-coin stars? Aw, what a rip! Those were some of my favorite parts of 64 and Star Road...
it got replaced with time time attack mode, whch unlocks afte you complete classic, You get a star after you gather 100K points

@@gdminus1726 ... In case it wasn't already obvious, I disagree. With the right coin placement, it's an excellent incentive to scour every part of a level in ways you never would otherwise.
@@DavinFaulkner imo it is overrated. 100 coins was just a convenient, fast and easy way to add extra stars to the game.

This Looks Great however i think a great way to play this would be on a Wii-U console and apply the analog patch, im sure it would play better.

Hmm, I remember using the stick on the 3ds to play DS games that used a D-pad. Maybe it doesnt work on an emulator or doesnt work with all games.

The front of a ship is called the “saucer section”. In some ships, this can be detached, or “separated”.
TF you talking about? It's called the bow(Not pronounced like bow and arrow, but like taking a bow). The back side is called the stern, left is port, right is starboard. You're little "saucer section" crap is exclusive to Star Trek.

@cheddarsunchipsyes8144 For one, pilots fly planes while the original comment refers to a boat. Second of all, literally no source says the bow is the back... because it's not. Just Google "front of a boat" and literally every source will tell you it's bow. Thirdly, Googling "saucer section" only comes up with Star Trek stuff. Not even a fictional boat either.
Also, I'd be very concerned where he got a pilot's license from if he doesn't even know what the front of a plane is called; the cockpit. Now, if you're going to be more retarded than my cousin who ate a window sill, do it in private and not on the internet like a twat

Rimorld sold 100 million copies and was made in 6 years, this is a game mod made in 12. Something tells me you would have been better off inside of unreal, unity, godot or construct playing around for 12 years.

Dude... This video is wack, I mean, you're playing a hacked version, you're playing it with a Xbox controller, you're using the D-Pad(Why!?) and you cannot see the bottom of your screen...... How more wrong can this get?
