the spurs litterally said it wasnt an injury , its a condition that will have to be managed for the rest of his career... this isnt some shock. and teams kept paying him, its not stealing cheques or scamming anyone when its a known thing, and you pay a guy anything.

someone needs to tell me how him sitting on the bench is somehow worse for the team then him retiring, his money stays on the cap hit even if he retires, so he cannot be replaced with another max player or anything like that - the ONLY person who benefits if he retires, is balmers pocketbook and i highly doubt balmer cares at all. so the real question is, are the clippers somehow better with kawhi sitting on the bench for half the games then they are if he sits behind the bench for all of the games?
The Clippers are better by not having Leonard anywhere in or around the building. I know the Clips would love to not have that waste of space filling up a roster spot that could go to a player that actual is on the floor and competes. Leonard was born on the IR.

I strongly feel like Kawhi and his uncle knew this information about his knees YEARS ago and San Antonio found out about it. Spurs came out the best in all of this because they got the championship and up off an All Star player a season before his downfall. Kawhi hasn't been dominant to me since like 2014.

I mean Lonzo Ball is back. It's a degenerative knee disease. Through pain medication and proper post-game rehab he should be able to play. I think the problem behind the scenes is he doesn't want to be on pain meds. These athletes nowadays are soft. A little knee inflammation and they take months off mean while you have manual labor workers going out everyday with all sorts of aches & pains in-order to build society.
