I’d like to attach a small led strip to my 3d printer so I can light up the work in progress. I’d like it to turn on/off with the same switch I use to turn the printer on, for instance. Thanks!

      I too would like to know how I could power LED strip from the printer itself so as you say, on and off with 1 switch. And how to do with little to no electrical experience.
      I mean we could always attach led strip to enclosure or print a frame like in video and just use a multi socket to plug printer and usb power supply into 1 mains socket, but I want less cables for neater look.

      Yeah honestly would recomend people just buy a cheap ass iron and ignore people that shit on 20 dollar irons all the time. They do the job and people that discourage the use of these discourage people from starting the hobby. That being said these ideas are a great way to spark interest and I would like to add that at most small applications there are a wide range of solderless connectors from breadboards, solderless jumperwires, and even clips for led strips.

    • @nxxynx5039
      @nxxynx5039 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jonathanclark7444 cheap irons are more than enough for LEDs and basic work, working on boards might need a more professional iron but even then there's not much flux can't fix. Most products you buy are made in Chinese sweatshops using soldering irons that are barely more than a hot wire wielded by a child or unskilled labourer.
