Hi Matt, Lora here. That symbol is for the Rebeccas which is the female auxiliary of the Odd Fellows. Like the Order of the Eastern Star is to the Masons. As usual, very interesting! Thanks !
I so enjoy these exploration videos. My husband and I have always enjoyed wandering around in old graveyards. My only suggestion is that when you come upon a marker with unusual wording (like the man who was killed in battle during the civil war) please focus on the headstone long enough for us to actually read it. I kept backing up and pausing trying to read the entirety of that stone and could not make out the bottom portion. Thanks again...
If you go back at 5:33 you can see the details on each of the pyramid's door of a cross with a rose in the centre. That, very probably, means they were rosacrucians. Rosacrucianism is a movement very similar to the masons and like them they use Egyptian symbology too. The marker at 9:32 is a Daughters of Rebekah, the female division of the order of Odd Fellows.
Pyramid-shaped tombs and mausoleums were fairly common back in the early 20th Century, probably due to the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb. But there was also a huge spiritualism craze that started in the mid-1800s and was still going strong in those days, and people were REALLY into Egypt because of the Egyptians' beliefs in an afterlife. There was also a return to the whole pyramid tomb thing back in the late 20th Century during the "pyramid power" craze. People can be weird sometimes...
“The Battle of Thompson's Station was a battle of the American Civil War, occurring on March 5, 1863 in Williamson County, Tennessee. In a period of relative inactivity following the Battle of Stones River, a reinforced Union infantry brigade, under Col. John Coburn, left Franklin to reconnoiter south toward Columbia.” good old Wikipedia 👍
On March 5, 1863, during the Civil War, the Battle of Thompson's Station was fought, with Confederate forces led by General Earl Van Dorn defeating Union forces under Colonel John Coburn
About the only battle we won. It was a very stupid war, tearing families apart, and for what?? It wasn't really about slavery, despite what everyone thinks. It was about State Rights Law V Federal Laws.
