The VPO-209 is a Russian civilian rifle developed from the AKM, it has almost identical appearance, weight, and dimensions. The VPO-209 is chambered in .366 TKM, which classifies the firearm as a shotgun in Russian law. This means the firearm is easier to obtain than standard firearms.
The AKM is just an AK-47 with a receiver (the gray metal part in the middle of the gun that everything attaches to) that was stamped from a flat piece of steel, instead of milled from a solid block.

AKM (1959) is literally an replacement for the AK-47 (1947). Basically they changed the internal mechanisms of AK-47 and boom AKM, but that's exactly what the conversions of the game do to the gun, change the barrel, the mag, the ammo, the extraction things, etc. That's why the AKM and AK-47 with the shotgun conv have the same name.
Stylis not worried about the quality of the game, only solely about adding more content. More guns, conversions, the balancing altogether, and the teams sometimes are just horrendous.
correction: duplex/triplex ammo conversions do not actually make the tar21/x95 smg into shotguns
It literally is not a shotgun. A shotgun should have more pellets. It just makes it so it can 3 shot body up close really.
