    As a former cavalry soldier myself, it irks me when someone says Calvary for mounted soldiers. Calvary a.k.a. Golgatha was a hill outside just outside Jerusalem where the Romans executed people; Cavalry are mounted troops. Modern Cav are scout/recon. Calvary is shortened from Calvariae Locus or "The place of the skull". Golgotha is the Aramaic word for "The place of the skull". Cavalry and Calvary are very different. You are by no means the only person in the world who does this. I like your content a lot as Mystara especially Karameikos is one of my favorite campaign settings. So you say Calvary in place of cavalry in multiple videos, I am wondering is this just accent or is it lazy tongue? Do you even notice? Personally it makes me cringe whenever anyone does this, it's just me I guess. In the Army they eliminate the problem by referring to us as "The Cav".

    • @Mr_Welch
      @Mr_Welch 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a regional thing. In the drawl we actually pronounce it with two L's. Calvalry though the first L is more of a ghost sound

    If everyone can tell who bought their position, and it hamstrings mr. Moneybag's advancement so, why do people keep doing it? Sounds more or less like a problem solved. Mind you, I wouldn't want Dr. Simony doing brain surgery on me or leading me into battle.
