    I think it's really cool welding allowed you to take a chance like this. Sometimes things are a means to a potential end. I'm going to school soon for welding/fab because I have done nothing with my life so far and am taking a chance at investing into myself. I might not do it forever, but I'm hoping it will make me some cash to be able to pursue something I have more passion for. Huge respect.

    Good for you man! I got a job logging and thought Id be set for life with that job, but then I realized that I would never want to do that my whole life and quit after 2 weeks. Was able to drive a skidder and run a processor but man, I bought a mavic mini and everything because I wanna do youtube instead.

    Atta boy, Josh… I didn’t have a plan and allowed myself to be whimsy of the wind…took me 30 years to find a place where I could shine
    and feel well-employed. But that’s just a bit of how I ended up here. Follow the dream! Be your own boss and be your star employee.

    I feel like a lot of non union welding jobs just aren’t worth it, the owner/Forman usually underpays and shits on the workers and lays them off at their own leisure.

    • @mrillis9259
      @mrillis9259 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's boom an bust non union for sure.
      When bust comes there's only so much need for workers in the shop to complete jobs an fill in out of shop positions when needed.
      First tip for non union shop, is diversify ones skill sets.
      When I first started at my current non union shop, all I had was my labor skills an all position SMAW an FCAW, now I have one pipe ticket, (last minute chance to take the test while I was prepping when I could for an other process) an now I could pass a stainless pipe, got trained on the CNC plasma, ( could get a job coast to coast with this 3? Years trained on the table.) Now I'm fitting stuff together an making sure the other guys with me are welding to the WPS of each job.

    oh no buddy, I just starting my welding courses (that's how I came up to your channel), I know that I don't want to do it but I want to do it only for the money. I didn't know some other sector in which I can jump right away and start makeing good money... what's our toughts about that...money-welding (any good)?

    • @VandeeTV
      @VandeeTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly I think it’s a great skill to have and I love that I can go fabricate something up if I need to. If I was you I would do it for a couple years at least to save up some money to start something on your own & also learn valuable skills

      @@VandeeTV Which method you recommend the most (which welding method is most used)? MIG/MAG and stick may be?

    • @VandeeTV
      @VandeeTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      MIG & Tig for welding in a shop, stick if you’re going to be doing structural & pipeline stuff. Big money in the pipeline even being a welders helper handing him tools and stuff, you can learn a lot that way as well.
