  • Everyone had been saying just released Sony A6300 is a low light, autofocus and 4k monster.There was only way to find out. To try it out!
    The biggest benefit for me with this camera's sensitivity will be shooting in Autofocus with and in low light situations where normally you are at the top of your camera's ISO before it gets hideous and also wide open at F1.8. so, I went down to our favourite shooting haunt, surfers with my A6300 to see what i can do in different situations.
    I shot most of stuff handheld in XAVCS 4k, 25P 100M at ISO 1600 in cine 4, with a constant apeture all the way open to 1.8. My glass was sony 50mm f1.8 oss e-mount prime lens.All the 4k images were scaled down to 1080p for editing.
    The things i liked about these camera are 24 MP new sensor, whopping 425 phase-detection AF points, 4k UHD video with S-LOG2 and S-LOG3 and ability to shoot in Low light conditions. Sony always let me down in their ergonomics, build quality sucks, no headphone jack and bad rolling shutter.

    When the faces entered the screen I noticed that you squeezed your 16:9 image to fit academy format instead of cropping it.
    And here I was thinking the bokeh balls in the opening shot were oval. Good to know they're actually round.
    Btw, use the correct PAL/NTSC mode depending on the country you're in, you can tell by the lines in the image with artificial light there is a mismatch in frequencies

      i have shot this video in 16:9 aspect ratio and conform it by only 10%. i have used pal. lights were flickering because it was in auto mode. thanks for the suggestion and feedback.

      By conform you mean rescale?
      Anyway, things will look unnatural. Better to crop instead of squeeze-in.

      yes rescaled by 10%. learned lesson thanks

    what other lenses have you tested with the a6300? Have you tried the sigma 18-35 with MC-11 or the Sony 18-105 oss? I am considering switching from a 70D. Great job on the video!

    • @pukarsingh5346

      Thanks @Eric McFarland, i have some prime lens form sony and sigma. i haven't tested MC-11 yet. i will be stick with sony native lenses for now. i think canon is good but from video pov sony mirrorless are overtaking future of indie filmmaking.

    This may sound like a not so smart question, but does the lens zoom in and out ? Or is just strictly 50mm

    • @liamgilchrist9781
      @liamgilchrist9781 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      its a fixed focal length so only 50mm no zoom.

    Do I convert by just shooting at 4K and importing the footage into a 1080p timeline in whatever program you use? (I use fcpx)

    • @pukarsingh5346
      @pukarsingh5346  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @DeLaRue Visuals what i did was i shot all my stock in 4k and when its time for editing, i scaled down that 4k images in 1080p in my timeline. there is very less quality difference in 4k and scaled 1080p stock and its way more easier to edit less res footage, it will render ur footage fast and speedup ur editing. if you want to know how to Modify setting then let me know., its a easy job.

      +Fadein Production yeah man that would be dope!

    • @pukarsingh5346
      @pukarsingh5346  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just import footage in timeline
      Right click on project file in viewers window,Modify setting pops-up in inspector window.
      Right click Modify setting and then change your setting from 4k to 1080p. done

      Is this the full frame 50mm? So with the a6300 crop its more like 75mm?

      sigma 30 1.4 allrounder lens

      Thank you. I'm using a6300, AF on Sigma 30 1.4 is good for video?

    • @Sam-be4yy
      @Sam-be4yy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanh Tùng The Sigma is great for photography but not for video. The lens is sharp; however, the autofocus is not as fast as the native lens. The most annoying part of sigma is that when in video mode, there is a significant AF noise and a high pitch noise.

  • @Dober87g

    is it true that since its an APSC sensor, that in this case your 50mm really is a 75mm? due to the crop effect?

  • @danuputraYT

    is this the E 50 mm F1.8 OSS(SEL50F18) or FE 50mm F1.8(SEL50F18F)

    • @pukarsingh5346

      you don't wanna get FE because for the a6300 you want optical stabilization since there isn't no body stabilization. trust me i found out the hard way. go for the E not the fe

    • @pukarsingh5346
      @pukarsingh5346  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +KOOLDAD you are correct. Fe are made for fullframe sensor and old e are made for apsc and it has inbuilt oss to stable you shots. My video was all done handheld, there were no tripod and other rigs.

    • @andrewoid100
      @andrewoid100 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      you should be able to autofocus to a good standard using that lens and a decent adapter with tthe a6300. Always read reviews before buying but autofocus generally shouldn't be a problem.

    • @kakaphotography8736
