    Sulfur is a safe slow Ph adjusting additive to the lawn or other soil areas. It takes months to work its magic. As you mention, it allows other minerals and nutrients to work properly in the soil, The main affect is usually iron which is incredibly Ph dependent, something like 10,000x more available at ph of 6.0 vs 8.0. Sulfur also works with nitrogen in some say.

    • @TheLawnGuardian
      @TheLawnGuardian  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Larry! Thank you for leaving this comment. I can attest to what you're saying about iron. When I started to use citric acid along with the elemental sulfur to lower my pH, I began to notice the lawn getting a beautiful deep green color without me applying any iron. The citric acid quickly but temporarily lowers the soil pH to help the micro-organisms in the soil more effectively oxidize the elemental sulfur to more permanently lower the soil pH. It was fascinating to learn this, this year and see it happen. Thank you for the comment and your support!

      Can take up to two years - microbes have to convert sulfur to sulfuric acid to change the soil pH
      Also check on the level of chlorine in your water.

    I also have High PH issues, My centipede lawn wants a 5.5 but I am running at 7.5 to 8+. I believe it has contributed to higher susceptibility to disease. I am in Eastern NC in a pine Forrest and our PH usually runs low. Ultimately I discovered the well I dug for irrigation has HIgh PH water and that was the culprit driving my PH up.

Last year we put down moss out and it worked which has iron. But here we a year later and he moss is back. So perhaps the sulfur will work better.
