John Alston and company discuss a method of removing two doors on the side of a vehicle so that firefighters can remove victims in a limited-access scenario.
Get the longest blades on your tool as you can afford. You can then do the vertical crush as close to the B post as possible. In most cases a simple door pop is all you need. Avoid cutting B posts as much as possible due to amount of SRS components in the B post. Tearing and exposure to the rocker panel below the b post exposes high voltage lines. While removing the entire side looks cool, the reality is, quick vertical crush and door pop on each door followed by removal of the door will be much faster for most crews. Do the basics perfectly and the fancy “advanced” stuff just doesn’t make much sense or have much place in application.
They're cutting right through an electronic module. And then they want to set the stretcher on top of the fucking doors with two airbags waiting to deploy!?
Cutting near the seat belt tensioner.
Also don’t peel and peek for air bags.
2:00 He tapes the glass.. then #2 comes in and knocks all the glass off the tape.. lmao

agree, the SRS component if damaged could lead to injuries

wooow very neatly done...
Don't waste time with the tape. It's pointless.
Agreed
@@adamantbelief77 We use pack ex it's much quicker.
just protect the victim with a cover
@@RichAT Yep.
What u didn't do is a peel and peak which is critical to ensure safety of crew and occupants. Do better
Putting duct tape on there is a complete waste of time. This video should be labeled extrication techniques from the 1990s.
