Tiger II is slow, so if their infantry support got destroyed they would be surrounded by enemy infantry, this was to prevent the tank from being attacked by them. Some tanks even had launchers to deploy anti-infantry mines around the tank

If they do it should be like a low yield grenade fired at a fixed angle to hit an exact range. Adds a bit of skill to it and add an achievement for getting a armor kill with a grenade launcher

To me Gajin has several machine guns on their tanks that do not work aswell. I say those and this granade feature should be implemented for realism and to troll light tanks.
