Just found this -- so was I: back in 1925 and I lived there until 1931 when my father was moved to London from Chester so we followed. Our house was on Hinderton Rd next on the town side to the "new" Police Station which has disappeared and down from "Station Road" which I think is gone like the Station at the end of it but I see the Cheshire Lines (High Level) rail is still there with a train in the station. I paused the video and went to Google Earth street level and "rode" that down to the town center and then went back to this video. On Hinderton Road coming down from the Chester Arms everything seems to have changed on the right side until just before the railway bridge and then it jumps back in time for me. What is now the Royal Arcade used to be the cinema and I just remember my father taking me to see "White Hell of Pitz Palu" a wonderful German mountain and skiing film issued in 1929! If you Google on the title it had an interesting background especially the people involved in making it including Leini Reifenstal who later filmed the Olympic Games when they were held in Germany in 1936 I think. The Civic Hall is still there and my father used to carry his enormous Viola da Gamba in its wooden case (larger than any double base) down from where we lived in order to play with the village orchestra! I was saddened on Google Earth -- updated 2021 -- that Staplands has gone or at least as it was as a wonderful center for crafts like stitched carpet weaving by hand and ornate silverware; the Pallis family, Liverpool shipping, owned it and were longtime friends of my fathers, and tolerated me! I must now look at the Wirral film! PS I live in the USA now!
Well , ok for people living in Neston, , boring for anyone else. The board at the beginning, stated,Historic Market Town, really? No description of any building, church of note . Shame
I was born in Neston at 5 Sytchcroft road left in 1971. My mum passed away in 2020 we often talked about the old place.
