The song is almost one year old, yet I still have it on the first song of my playlist. Every time I drive my car, I’m accompanied by this song. I would often click on repeat it over and over, so I ended up listening to just one song in the entire trip. I can never get sick of this song.
It wasn't sad to me but motivating. It's like an internal battle of anxiety's and passions. Blue Gura is want to pursue her dreams and live life true to herself. Red Gura is the Anxiety's saying that it's pointless to try and to just go with the flow and be normal.
I'm happy we finally get the MV. Reflect is catchy and tells a story about Gura herself. She wanted us to like it because it was good, not because she was the one who made it. She nailed it. I love this song, and am proud of her for putting so much into it.
I see some lore implications in this video, and it is impressive. I mean, the red side is in front of a throne. That means at some point she was more than just an average Atlantis citizen.
Gawr's segment was darker than I imagined... but that made the entire video that much better! The whole presentation of Atlantis and underwater elements/effects were just epic! Be proud of yourself, you deserve it!

The composition of the lyrics is made by a genius, how they interchange japanese and English language without the same meaning but come out as a shortened sentence to mean sometimes bigger.
Her personality shines through so strong in everything she does that no matter the platform or medium of entertainment she will always be a success. Literally unstoppable.
Yeah... I always assumed this song, and her general shark persona, was about the idea of being predatory as a human being. I always associate it with internet toxicity, and rather then going with the tide of bullying others based on bandwagoning, thinking for yourself and doing something cringe(like being a goody two shoes hololive streamer). Hearing it reminds me of who I am, and who I was. I always assumed that was to be the original intention of the song, since she too said it was a sort of self-reflection in her post-song interview. It first realeased at an interesting time for me, when i was starting to become a better person and a kinder version of myself. And from the begginning, gura helped me with that. When the song dropped, i was in a sort of transitory period where i was learning not to be some memer edgelord and hate whatever it was popular to hate at the time(i think it was dream around the time the song dropped lol). It helped me realize that yes, it was time to move on and become a better version of myself, but at the same time, that part of me would never truly leave, and i should accept it as something that formed who I am today. I am the sum total of all that I am, even my worst sides. That is what this song means to me and thats why its one of my favorites

This song is wildly viewed as Gura having a conversation with her PL fans, explaining why she left. A lot of her PL fans were unhappy with the new direction Gura went when she joined hololive. That Gawr is voiced the same as her PL lends a lot of credence to the idea that Reflect is aimed at them.
When I first watched this, I don't know a word of japanese. Now, 2 years later with one year of learning japanese and starting to know a few words and kenjis, it just made the experience 10 times better. ALSO THE LINE 'A shark is all you'll ever be' HITS SO GOOD LIKE HOW!?
I love the meaning of this song (or at least how I think of it) being about finding and embracing who you are but still remembering your past and how you got to where you are now both the good and the bad definitely a good way to live your life but many people find themselves forgetting how they got to where they are or too focused on the past to embrace/embody who they are now
Listening to this in my car while I’m driving down a highway at night, in the middle of nowhere, with rain so heavy I can barely see, hail pelting my car, and lightning giving an epic light show was not an experience that I knew I needed, but I have it now. It was awesome.

This is a truly bizarre cultural artifact if you think about it. An animated girl who is also a shark sings in three languages about her sharky feelings, and it is enjoyed millions of times by people around the world. And it's a genuinely good, interesting piece of music. I wonder what our descendants will think about this in a few generations.
Now that i think about it, all of Holomyth have pretty tragic backstory in their lore. Like Ina is a human chosen by the Ancient Ones. Kiara is the phoenix that can't die even if she wishes to. Calli is the harbinger of death that doesn't want to take souls but instead give people happiness. Gura is running from her own dark self all alone in her very long life, and then there's Ame, the lonely detective who yearns for company that she would make a time machine to meet her other self.
Is Ame really so lonely she build time machine just to meet her other self? If that's the official lore and not a canon, damn, i miss that piece of info. So.... Lonesome.... i can feel that.
3:06 I know this meant to be like the evil gura dragging blue gura back to the sea, but because of the very cheerful voice it feels like two kids playing around.
This is so good, it can be used for a battle with a Disney villain, played on the radio, or just used as background noise in a video game battle or an anime battle. Games like Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy have done this. I don't remember the animè that uses music with lyrics during action sequences but they are out there.

The composition of the lyrics is made by a genius, how they interchange japanese and English language without the same meaning but come out as a shortened sentence to mean sometimes bigger.

Her personality shines through so strong in everything she does that no matter the platform or medium of entertainment she will always be a success. Literally unstoppable.
Yeah... I always assumed this song, and her general shark persona, was about the idea of being predatory as a human being. I always associate it with internet toxicity, and rather then going with the tide of bullying others based on bandwagoning, thinking for yourself and doing something cringe(like being a goody two shoes hololive streamer). Hearing it reminds me of who I am, and who I was. I always assumed that was to be the original intention of the song, since she too said it was a sort of self-reflection in her post-song interview.
It first realeased at an interesting time for me, when i was starting to become a better person and a kinder version of myself. And from the begginning, gura helped me with that. When the song dropped, i was in a sort of transitory period where i was learning not to be some memer edgelord and hate whatever it was popular to hate at the time(i think it was dream around the time the song dropped lol). It helped me realize that yes, it was time to move on and become a better version of myself, but at the same time, that part of me would never truly leave, and i should accept it as something that formed who I am today. I am the sum total of all that I am, even my worst sides.
That is what this song means to me and thats why its one of my favorites

Why does this song bring me tears every time? There is something about saying "goodbye, thanks you" that is kind of definitive.
This song is wildly viewed as Gura having a conversation with her PL fans, explaining why she left. A lot of her PL fans were unhappy with the new direction Gura went when she joined hololive. That Gawr is voiced the same as her PL lends a lot of credence to the idea that Reflect is aimed at them.

I love the meaning of this song (or at least how I think of it) being about finding and embracing who you are but still remembering your past and how you got to where you are now both the good and the bad definitely a good way to live your life but many people find themselves forgetting how they got to where they are or too focused on the past to embrace/embody who they are now

Listening to this in my car while I’m driving down a highway at night, in the middle of nowhere, with rain so heavy I can barely see, hail pelting my car, and lightning giving an epic light show was not an experience that I knew I needed, but I have it now. It was awesome.

Now that i think about it, all of Holomyth have pretty tragic backstory in their lore. Like Ina is a human chosen by the Ancient Ones. Kiara is the phoenix that can't die even if she wishes to. Calli is the harbinger of death that doesn't want to take souls but instead give people happiness. Gura is running from her own dark self all alone in her very long life, and then there's Ame, the lonely detective who yearns for company that she would make a time machine to meet her other self.

3:06 I know this meant to be like the evil gura dragging blue gura back to the sea, but because of the very cheerful voice it feels like two kids playing around.
This is so good, it can be used for a battle with a Disney villain, played on the radio, or just used as background noise in a video game battle or an anime battle. Games like Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy have done this. I don't remember the animè that uses music with lyrics during action sequences but they are out there.
