The XFX took it badly saying it was destroying zhan's image and reported the fanfic. So the internet censorship group Great Firewall of China blocked the fan fiction publishing platform Archive of Our Own In china as the explicit and mature contents in the books of platform was against the censorship of Chinese law. The ao3 platform users in mainland china got angry at the fact and started blaming XFX (Xiao Zhan's fans) and Xiao Zhan for not controlling his fans which lead to cyber violence and boycotting against Xiao Zhan, his fans, endorsed products, luxury brands, and other Chinese celebrities involved with him. @@riobird1642 oh well, the controversy is known as 227 Incident, It originated between the fans of Xiao Zhan and Archive of Our Own users in Mainland China. Mainly an yizhan fanfic author protrayed Zhan as a (i don't wanna mention the word you may google it if you wanna know) not so pleasent character. And posted the book link in weibo. The XFX took it badly saying it was destroying zhan's image and reported the fanfic. So the internet censorship group Great Firewall of China blocked the fan fiction publishing platform Archive of Our Own In china as the explicit and mature contents in the books of platform was against the censorship of Chinese law. The ao3 platform users in mainland china got angry at the fact and started blaming XFX (Xiao Zhan's fans) and Xiao Zhan for not controlling his fans which lead to cyber violence and boycotting against Xiao Zhan, his fans, endorsed products, luxury brands, and other Chinese celebrities involved with him.
The incident happened at beginning of quarantine when Xiao Zhan was back at his home in Chongqing unaware of everything. He basically did nothing yet getting so much blame and hatred. This world is full of stupid and toxic people alright!😩
