  • Today's video invites you to follow along and visit Ong Do Street for the 2024 Dragon Festival in Saigon.
As a spring celebration venue that has taken place for the past 17 years, this year's event is considered large-scale with many traditional Tet experience activities.
My family will follow the route: Ba Son Bridge, go to Le Duan Street, then go to Pham Ngoc Thach Street to go to the youth cultural house, where the annual Ong Do Street is held every year.
Currently, District 1 is also decorated for Tet with sparkling street lights along Le Duan Street, Vo Van Kiet Avenue, and Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street.
Like every year, Ong Do Street for Lunar New Year will open from January 24 (the 14th day of the 14th lunar month) and is expected to open until February 14 (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year).
This cultural neighborhood will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. for nearly 20 days.
Many areas to visit such as the calligraphy writing area outside and Tet decoration booths along Pham Ngoc Thach Street and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street. Fashion booth and dining area inside.
Miniature scenes for Tet photography and many nightly cultural performances.
The stalls on Ong Do Street this year are quite diverse. The most sold items are lucky money bags, fans, decorations...
These products are personally decorated and written with calligraphy by the stall owner. Selling prices range from 20 to 50 thousand VND.
Besides miniature landscapes such as yellow apricot trees and pink peaches, images often seen in Tet festivals
The highlight of Ong Do Street this year is the craft village space with a wall of 600 ceramic pots, 300 conical hats, 500m of stacked woven mats,...
In addition, this year's yellow apricot and pink peach rows are also carefully invested in with more than 100 apricot trees 2 meters high arranged in a vertical row running from outside the gate to the inside of the Youth Cultural House.
Another unique feature of Ong Do Street this year is the arrangement of the miniature landscapes, for example, the yellow apricot garden is arranged in the center in a square shape instead of a circle like previous years.
