Dad’s 70th Birthday Celebration || Accra, Ghana (West Africa)

It was such a JOY to HONOR my dad with a 70th Birthday Celebration in Ghana.🎉🎊🇬🇭😇 His itinerary was already full with various excursions and events. So, I wasn’t sure if my family and I would be able to pull off a birthday celebration for him. He turned 70 last October. Due to various demands, we couldn’t be with him on that day.
So, recognizing that he was still in his 70th year and he was in our our presence, I had to do something. My spirit would let me rest. I kept thinking about the cost (especially since this year has been financially demanding). I then thought about the moment: I figured that I can always get more cash, but i can’t get the moment again. It was an opportunity to honor his milestone birthday in-person and in the presence of his grandchildren and only son-in-law for the first time. ❤️ I scrambled to get a custom cake in less than 8 hours (most places here make you place an order at least 24hours in advance).
I looked at the more economical cake options (trying not to break the budget😇), but they weren’t nice. So, again my spirit kept guiding me to focus on the significance of the moment and to get the best cake. Exchanging messages after messages with the bakery, we finally agreed on a cake. Once the bakery told me the price of the cake, the initial amount increased because I added more customization.🤣 At that point, i didn’t care anymore. I knew it was the right thing to do.
Immediately, I messaged my husband to tell him the cake plan. I showed him the picture of the cake, the cost of it, and my impromptu payment plan.😃lol 😃 He immediately sent the bakery the payment and we picked up the cake before our planned dinner.
NO REGRETs!!! My Dad had no clue that the whole dinner was for us to honor his 70th Birthday. The beautiful cake made the occasion extra special. 🎊🎉 😇
The more we reflected on the birthday celebration, we realized that it was our first time ever celebrating his birthday together. ❤️ To God be the glory!!!😇🎉🎊 We’re creating new experiences and special memories to fill our hearts forever!❤️❤️😇.
The smile on his face as he looked at the candle burning and the inscription written on the bottom of the cake was…PRICELESS!!! ❤️ This picture and moment will ALWAYS be in my heart.❤️ To God be the glory! 😇 Hallelujah! Amen!😇
