Thank you for this info. If this is accurate then I have less to fear this year in paying taxes. I'm only 61 but rpart etired and is receiving some dividends from my portfolio. Next year I will begin receiving social security benefits. I realize now that if I hire and accountant to work with me then I don't need to fear paying excorbitant amount of taxes if I file properly.
Interesting, but you could make the example more realistic by adding in income from qualified dividends. Doing so should make the total amount of tax free retirement income significantly higher, correct?
Thank you for the comment! Adding qualified dividends would increase the amount of tax-free income you could receive. In most cases, qualified dividends only play a factor if you had investments in a taxable account.
