    I'm Vietnamese, and I'm happy when you have a good trip. And I'm impressed by the English-speaking tour guide because she is in poor condition. I hope you enjoy your next tour in Vietnam.

    Hi guys, came across your video while planning our family trip to Vietnam, specifically Sapa. We reached out Nhu, and today we met her in person as she took us on a private trek. The trek was the common tourist one, however, it was her personality that made the trek great. Nhu will become a trekking celebrity I am sure.

      Glad to hear that🥰 she got some more tourists after this video, it's really fun to climb the mountains together with Nhu!
      By the way, we specifically asked her to show us a non-tourist trail 😁
      please if anyone else meets her, say hello from us🥹🫂

    This is fantastic. Most travel people cover the big/popular destinations. Your video goes on a trek to Hmong villages on foot! You asked so many good questions and showed a good interest. This is both entertaining and very educational. I really love that you guys did this trek/tour as it is very different and challenging while expanding your knowledge and understanding of their culture and lands. Excellent episode!!! Thank you so much for sharing this.

    I enjoyed this video a lot. I'm planning to visit Sapa (with a tour) next month and we'll also spend 1 day trekking. This was a great video wo prep us mentally for what's to come.

    We, in Borneo in the seventies were like them. They still maintain their lifestyle. We, me, my brother and sister use to ride the Buffalo to bring them to the grass to feed them. We, re so used to riding them that we- sometimes race the buffaoes back home. It was fun. These people are good not as naughty as us. Now I, m 64years old. Watching your vlog reminds me of the good old days❤😂

    Justin, Hmong is pronounced with the H silence. ( Mong). A little side note, Hmong originated from China. In the 18th - 19th century, many Hmong people were forced to flee China due to political, famine, and prosecution, leading to a significant diaspora community around the world.

    • @mightywong
      @mightywong 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I recently learned more about the Hmong people and there is a large community in Minnesota. Suni Lee sort of put that on the map.

    Congratulations on your video! Justin & Alina I would appreciate your advice to visit Sapa. I have COPD and I did notice Alina having trouble breathing due to Sapa's elevation. I travel w/my portable POC to high places and go slow (no trek), rest of Vietnam is no problem w/sea level.

    • @project_where
      @project_where  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can ask the guide to take you on an easy hike or something slightly more challenging. We went for a medium-level trail, but honestly, it didn’t feel that hard. Breathing wasn’t an issue at all, so I think Sapa isn’t that high up in the mountains, which makes it easier to handle🫂

    Vietnamese people consider buffaloes, cows, and horses as an agricultural industry that supports farming for the people! The most industrious animal when there was no modern technology, but later it was also an important symbol of farmers.

    I am a Filipino, I' ve been to Ho chi Minh and Hanoi, Moscow and Leningrad, where did Alina learn her English? I cant believe that your guide did not go to school,she speaks enough English, village life in Vietnam and Phils are very much the same, the buffalo, we call it carabao, population is declining because it is being replaced with small tractors , I love Vietnam, a beautiful country.

    Are you from Chinese or Korean descent ? I know in China and Korea they eat dog as well even more than in Vietnam . Here in Vietnam just a small minority of people still like that kind of meat ( mostly in the north ) . The way of life in the countryside in VN is actually not the same everywhere . There are big differences between different regions and different ethnic groups because they don't have the same traditions , habits and languages . FYI over 20 years ago every week-end night there was a Love Market in Sapa town center where all the non-married young people from the surrounding areas came to meet each other and tried to a find a future husband or wife . Unfortunately , today with the increasing number of curious tourists , they feel so annoyed and disturbed that they have to move to a quieter secret place outside of Sapa . The Love Market scenes you see sometimes at the Central Square in Sapa are not authentic . They are set up as a show for tourists .

      I love mostly all Hmong things, except for eating dogs. Dogs are special to humans, and they are also “alpha predators”, which I don’t believe is healthy to eat. Alpha predators include dogs, cats, wolves, bears, hyenas etc, not good red meat.
