Brother he had 70 yards passing the WHOLE Game. The punter had more yards passing yards at halftime than JA. I’m pretty sure he’s had 200 passing yards 1 time all year. That is NOT going to get it done at OU. IMO he’s not the guy to be QB here. I was a big time fan of his until I saw these 7 games he played. OU has got to go find another QB even if JA stays. Yes injuries played a part in his play this year. Yes that play lost the game. It was plays open that he just didn’t see.
I would say play calling/game plan are more to blame than injuries. How can he get 200+ yards when the plays are drawn up to run a TE screen, bubble passes, jet sweep, etc. and the line doesn’t give him time to go through progressions?
@ He’s had plenty of time of late to pass the ball down field. That was only 2 plays to the TE out of 30 something drop backs. Yes play calling sucked most of the year but I really don’t think it’s gonna work with him. People do improve though. I hope he does. B💥💥MER
I must agree with you. But that last fumble he was trying to throw the ball away. The pressure on him caused that fumble. The same ones blaming JA are not saying anything about the TD he made.
@SoonerSpotlight he also should of had a pick 6 over threw Brenan Thomas missed an open Deion Burks for a T. D like he has no big play ability our punter throws longer passes if that was Jackson he would of dropped the ball
It was the situation, it was the one thing that you could not do(fumble). Compare to ANY quaterbacks in the league. I like JA but he has blown it many times.
You're excusing his play with team play he fumbled and fumbles games away it's on tape for the world to see.. who completes 15 passes for 76 yards..he cost us the game point blank period but you're right the whole team lost
No excuses, just reasons why it’s not on one guy whether win or lose. You replace Jackson Arnold with any other QB in the nation and Oklahoma is still looking at the same record.
No. Very few 5-star QBs come into D1 school, much less a power 5 D1 school, and are immediately successful without a quality QB coach. OU doesn’t have one. JA has pretty much had to learn in his own. This is totally on BV for hiring a former fullback, mediocre HC, as his OC/QB coach.
I think the play calling on offense has been the real weakness the entire season. Why are we calling trick plays and 4th down plays with this offense? Why are we calling so many pass plays, with both the line and the qb struggling? Calling for JA to be replaced is low IQ thinking. Do we not remember the last time we did that? OU should turn into a running offense with Robinson as the primary back. Limit the passing to 25% of plays, at most, and let our punter and defense keep us in games. Could the results be any worse?
Some of JA's fumbles are on BV. I'll defend JA only so much. Name, image and likeness, he's a pro now and got paid more than most will get for years. But the bad OC hires/playcalling aren't his fault. That is on BV. The Venables hire should work out but that can only come full circle if he can learn from his swing and miss mistakes and unlearn some of his Dabo bullshit teachings. We're a laughingstock, we're behind the NIL curve and when Drinkwitz's goofy ass gets one in on you and calls out Bob Stoops at the same time, BV gets to be on the hotseat. No more of these alum hires. Take a private jet somewhere outside of the OU alum network and give Dan Mullen or someone who actually knows what the fuck is going on a blank check and don't mess around, and go get QB coach yesterday.

You can stick with him me and a lot of fans that I know personally are our in him too..
I must agree with you. But that last fumble he was trying to throw the ball away. The pressure on him caused that fumble. The same ones blaming JA are not saying anything
about the TD he made.
He left the pocket all he had to do was step up how do you loose your grip on the ball twice in a game.
I blame him for the turnovers, but I don’t blame him for the loss. That’s the point of the video.
@SoonerSpotlight ok don't blame him for the looses, blame him for not giving us a chance to WIN
@SoonerSpotlight he also should of had a pick 6 over threw Brenan Thomas missed an open Deion Burks for a T. D like he has no big play ability our punter throws longer passes if that was Jackson he would of dropped the ball
Definitely give Xavier Robinson more than 9 carries
Any of the RBs should have 15+ carries every game.

We lead the SEC in turnovers?? He had 3 just during this game... should have went into OT

Very true. That’s why I blame coaching more than any player on the field for losses, especially for the Sooners this season.
All he had to do was step up in the pocket
I blame JA for the turnovers, not for losses. The play calling/game plans have not been set up to help any QB succeed.
All I hear are excuses for JA

Totally agreed, @snrynkee
I believe we haven't ran the ball enough at all this season to even give a single RB some sort of rhythm.
If we do 75% run why have JA as the QB? Honestly
If he's not stretching the field vertically then why be the starter for OU
You lost by 7 points. He sucks

Well said!
His only fault is he chose a bad College with no talent
Ha!
