The funny thing is that it took like 2 years for them to bring the jade chamber back. Kinda sad that new players dont really get to feel the impact of the chamber sacrifice since you can rebuild it now.
I wish that they could've maybe been able to access the rebuilding quest after certain order of events, like maybe only after finishing the chasm world quests or smth, that way even tho newer players don't wait for 2 years like old players, there's still the general idea that much time has passed since

Wild thought but I don't blame them. I lost a few times too trying to beat it even at the first time it was nerfed. However, I think that's fine. I think having a challenging boss is a good thing.
the problem is that in this game losing usually isn't a matter of skill, but being underleveled, so it kinds sucks to stop the story in the middle just to farm artifacts and level up materials to resume the story, so i think it makes sense to nerf that characters so you can beat then as soon as you level up enough to unlock the quest, instead of when you are ready to go to the next world level i think that is why they made Raiden slower than Childe and made a pre-requisite quest to train dodging her attacks
God i missed fighting childe for the first time, It was life or death, when childe wasn't nerfed yet. I had to fight hard and with all the dodge skills I have and to make matters worse, my artifact build at the time was shit (I didn't know the how build artifacts back then, I just maxed out their levels) By the end of the fight, my hands fucking cramped from dodging too much and my back and neck ache, But I had zero deaths, It was awesome i shed a tear.

Even if Mora was a fiat currency it is still a HUGE problem. Deflation is just as big of a problem as inflation, if not even worse as it causes a death spiral in the economy. The fact it has real usages just like the gold and silver currencies of old does not change that. This is what "The Great Depression" was all about. There is a very good reason why countries continue to create new money semi-regularly even today. To make it short : If there is no new money being made, then it's eventually going to deflate and every single coin is going to become more valuable. This is going to make everyone want to hoard money as and avoid spending it. If everyone knows that "my 100 mora is going to be worth 200 mora tomorrow" then nobody is going to want to buy anything other than what you need to live. But it's not just the consumers that do not want to spend money, the company owners also do not want to lose money, so they stop offering jobs. And this is going to cause the economy to implode on itself because it causes the flow of money to stop completely.
I wonder if they gonna address this somehow, this is chapter 1 so surely the writer would know this is a big problem that simply "create new currency" wouldn't solve

You have to understand the meaning behind the sacrifice of the Jade Chamber. Ningguang was once a poor girl, who made mora by selling seashells she collected at the beach. The Jade Chamber was built starting as a small office space, but now has grown to shroud Liyue in its shadow, which was built from all the wealth she has accumulated throughout the years. To sacrifice her second most loved object in the defense of Liyue shows how much she cares so much about Liyue. Why is the Jade Chamber her second most loved object? Because she loves Mora more.

Ningguang saw the og ballista and decided to copy it and modified it into the three ones on the jade chamber. A now dead god named guizhong (as the name implies) was the one who designed and made the og ballista. I think he doesn't understand how Mora works, in this world Mora isn't just a currency, it's also a resource, like when you upgrade a weapon or when you do alchemy, there are implications that everyone adheres to these rules as well. Mora is a finite resource that Morax was expected to create, that's why Paimon was concerned.
Even if he doesn't, and he doesn't, there's real world mints that are used to replace potentially lost or destroyed money. And some side cases. Real world Mints are a thing. Idk why he's so confidently clueless.
It's crazy to me how linked Childe and Zhongli used to be during the Liyue Archon quest, now I barely relate the two of them, I feel Childe grew closer to a solo character with us being their closest relationship away from Snezhnaya, and Zhongli feels more connected to Liyue itself now a days, specially the adepti and Hu Tao, but also like a looming protector over the city and it's inhabitants
There's no way for them to reconnect anyway. Zhongli used Childe, and Childe isn't welcome in Liyue anymore after what he pulled off. While it may seem that they had a meaningful relationship of some kind during this quest, he's actually only Zhongli's tool to pull of his little test for Liyue.
Of course, you ever noticed in Liyue events, Zhongli is always associated with Hu Tao and the Adepti but Childe is nowhere to be seen? Of course, he's a wanted criminal there and he's from Snezhnaya.

I would like Necrit to know that Mora is not currency that empires usually force a people to use (which is how paper money came about. Paper can’t be used). Since Teyvat is not ruled by one government or one leader, why do they use only one currency? It’s because Mora is used. It’s used for crafting, for cooking, and for refining. It’s used to make weapons stronger. It’s used for lights. It’s used for buildings. Nearly everything you see in the game that is made by someone probably made it by Mora. Mora is used up when this happens. That’s why there is a Game Theory video on how Morax doing what he did will cause an economical drought and depression due to everyone needing to readjust to not using Mora.
As I remember even in loading screen there is a hint, that Mora is Catalyst for crafting and alchemy. I do not think that it will have that much of effect on economy, they simply will switch to a "Flat" money model as we have in real life, but it will cause problems for crafting and alchemy at least.

@@RuneKatashima Can't agree that "Very", but yea, on economics side, even after causing some crisis Mora as a Money can be replaced, but Mora as the Catalyst will be a problematic to replace, not impossible, cos as we see in game, there are many other sources of energy that can be used for Catalyst (hunting Aranara for example or some other elemental creatures.....) that can be used instead of Mora, harder and will be more expensive to produce something, but not impossible, but anyway this part may become a huge, HUGE problem for Teyvat people. Also Khaenri'ah did not use Mora and still were able to create things and kinda strong things, so Mora was an easy and cheap way to give people a Catalyst, but now they will need to find things by themself. (also in King Deshret's ruins wee have seen some other type of money btw, so probably Amun Al-Ahmar's kingdom also was not using Mora and were quite "progressive" in technologies, till the specific events....)

That was Zhongli and Venti's Archon quests for me. Zhongli's 1st one is what me start playing Genshin. I kept getting recommended "Zhongli spill the tea..." from bwaap's channel, so I gave in and watched it. Had me hooked since. I'm still upset about it lmao.

Fun fact: since Mora is actually magical currency, it is also used as a magical catalyst, so spending your mora to increase the power of artifacts, weapons and such, destroys it canonically. So yeah, they have to keep printing more money because money is constantly being destroyed.
Watching you gaslight yourself out of the intended story conclusion is hilarious. Zhongli is absolutely Morax. You'll see Zhongli's obvious silhouette later in flashback illustrations about the Archon War / Adepti / ancient Liyue history. He didn't do this for money (which he can infinitely create as Morax with his gnosis) but because there is an unknown contract between the Tsaritsa and him. Eventually they might reveal the conditions of their agreement, but for now it's basically unknown what their entire deal is concerning. Zhongli clearly asked for her assistance in staging this test to see if he could finally safely retire as part of the contract conditions. As to why he was willing to give up the gnosis as a price, you'll have to continue with the story as it is something we are still piecing together. It may have something to do with the gods' collective feelings about Celestia, as losing the gnosis severs their connection to it. As far as the Rite of Parting, there are context clues that suggest perhaps Zhongli was organizing it for another god that previously passed away and may not have received a Rite of Parting in the past, due to some of the items chosen (such as the flowers and stones, which are not representative of Morax, but rather represent a friend of his named Guizhong, for whom the ballista used in the finale was named).
There is an overarching story besides just journeying from region to region. This story is largely told through intermission quests involving the character Dainslief. Those quests are major lore bombs, I recommend streaming those too.

Man, I remember playing this back in 1.0, me and a friend had many theories about Morax just cause the Zhongli answer was too obvious and we expected something maybe more elaborate, we thought he was a red herring or something, but when we played 1.1 it was like "oh, ok, they did the obvious safe thing" it wasn't something bad at all, we just expected a bigger twist, since then I just expect the least complicated things for the main story of the game, the good thing is that it picked up in quality a lot in Sumeru imo
Yeah. A lot of people praised Genshin a lot on its "masterpiece of a story" and when I got interested and played it, I was so disappointed I almost dropped it after a while. It is a "good" story but not a "masterpiece", especially if you read a lot/watch a lot etc. Although it did indeed picked up a lot in the later patches. Still dropped the game tho XD

@@saceurai6629 I wouldn't say Genshin's storytelling is what makes it great. I'd say it's Genshin's world-building, of which the storytelling is just one part of it. It's how the geography and locales are rich in history, how things like item descriptions and profile voicelines flesh out the lore of Teyvat and corroborate with existing pieces of information. Hidden in details from character and enemy designs to details in the world itself, there's a lot more hints to deeper lore hidden under the surface that most people would gloss over or overlook.
Oh, a couple other things: You do get to ask about things after every Archon story arc. In case you missed it, you have a similar conversation at the end of the prologue with Venti and get to ask him questions also. So yes, you (presumably) had seen this before. And lastly, Mora is not just currency, but also an alchemy catalyst. So you can quite literally use it up. The mechanic in the game profiles where you spend Mora to level things up? . . . It is an actual in-story mechanic also. They acknowledge this in the story. Later, during a character quest, some Liyue scholars are philosophizing about the nature of Mora and how important it was to certain aspects of Liyue's history given that it is such a powerful catalyst. So it is both essential as currency and also as a resource material.
Well… the thing is that all the 7 Archons know each other. There’s no way one can fake an agreement with another Archon without them realizing it. Also, the Harbingers are the direct followers of the Cryo Archon. They are privy to a lot of information.
With Nahida being a bit of an outlier. Also, Raiden to a degree as well, since spoilers; She's the Twin that was unknown. Everyone thinks she's the original but she's not.

its either necrit didnt pay any attention to the archon quest, completely in denial, or he try to play dumb for content. An Archon Quest is not a simple comedic story, bro.... while the liyue archon quest is slow paced, but i think that zhongli is morax hints were given to us from the beginning.
He looks so smug the entire time, he legitimately believes he has figured out a twist that doesn't exist, and is waiting for it to be revealed. It's legitimately painful to watch. In his mind, there is no 'conclusion' and the story 'isn't done' until what HE thinks is happening is confirmed. But worse yet was hearing him say that if he had written it, he would have made it so that Zhongli was 'just tricking them'. I'm sorry but that would have been such a childish, terrible 'twist' that would have ruined the impact of the moment. It's like pulling a 'haha it was actually all just a dream!' twist. Makes me glad he's NOT a writer.
oh yea, i feel like necrit has this syndrome of allknowing person who cant be wrong, but he is wrong almost everytime in genshin playthrough. That zhongli " its just a prank" at the end plot, that he think its cool and funny is the unfunniest thing ive heard ina long time. I'm really enjoying watching Necrit play Genshin but it bugs me a little that, at times, it becomes clear he isn't paying close attention to the story he is being presented. For now it's mostly fine but he'll have a harder time keeping up in Inazuma and Sumeru for sure!
So the reason Childe can wield 2 elements is because he has a regular vision and an artifical one called a delusion. His vision is hydro, his delusion is electro. The delusions are an invention of the Fatui, and a way for regular mortals to use elemental powers. However it has a nasty side effect, I won't say more. Also, The statue of the seven have the likeness of their archon on them. This is why players were immediately suspicious of Zhongli when he appeared because he looked very similar to the archon on top of the Liyue statue of the seven
@@siliconhawk Childe has been nerfed a long time ago. I think it was a patch or two right after this story quest released. Mihoyo got a lot of complaints and feedback about the Childe boss battle being too hard.

About Mora in Genshin. It isn't just money. It is literally a catalyst used in crafting and alchemy (lore reason why everything takes mora). It will eventually all be consumed hence why a certain amount was minted regularly. So, Zhongli basically doomed all of Teyvat's economy by stepping down.
Economy can "survive" by simply switching to s.c. Flat Currencies, like we have in real world, yes, it still will cause some problems, but not as a deal as the Mora as Catalyst problem, which technically, if no one will found another way, Crafting, Alchemy and even Ascending will experience huge problems in future, but Alice will find the way to fix that I think.... 😉

The fact that I've followed Necrit all the way back lore videos of League of Legends until here, i am awestruck. The way he speculates the lore of this game...i dontt know what to say.
They actually nerfed tha Childe boss fight like a month or two after the game launched cuz he was wiping people out. Most experienced gamers could still take him down (though he was ALOT tougher) but Genshin attracted massive amount of people new to the this type of game and a not unsignificant amount of people completely new to games in general, alot of anime fans who never played anything before signed up so they really didnt stand a chance. Thats lightning attack where he jumps on you was pretty much a one-shot kill if you were lvl50 or below and he used it way more frequently, the whale had a splash area that only left like a quarter of an inch at the edge of the screen safe and it was located right behind Childe. It also did ALOT more damage, often one shotting players as well. He had more health too. As you noticed he still did some damage even to you who are higher level than most people were back when the game was new. Having the Dendro element, which is absolutely broken, is also a massive benefit no one else had back then. You did obviously go easy to check out his moves and such but still, some of his moves hurt a little. Imagine if he had 5 times more HP,, did three times more damage and used his killer moves once every 10 seconds and cut your own damage in half and you get an idea what this boss was originally like. He was a menace to so many players xD Ive been playing games like this since the dawn of time and I struggled a bit to be honest. To be fair, I rushed the story mode and was a little bit under leveled but it was still way harder than I expected.
I remember when he almost oneshot my Noelle fully built in Def under her active Shield, it made me nervous.... I defeated him in first try, but only Noelle with 200hp left alive at the end, I remember that battle perfectly and it is sad, that people can not experience that anymore, Childe became even more passive in his attacks and movement on the arena, so even if player will go fully unequiped into this battle, boss still be easy.... But on the other hand I understand why they did that, cos people were crying that they were simply unable to finish the quest, main story quest..... Yea, my Noelle was lvl50 back then and full built in def to heal and shield and even then he was able to fully destroy the shield and take more than half of HP with that attack, that was scary, and fun....
Actually, in this world that IS how it works. Mora is not just money, its a catalyst used in all creation. When you "pay" to use the crafting bench or enchant stuff etc, its not a fee, the Mora is actually consumed. Picture soemthing like Alchemy in Full Metal Alchemist. You dont spend it, you use it to create something else. Yes, it IS used as Currency because of is value but its value, unlike our money, is not because its backed by oil or gold giving it value. The mora itself is a consumable product. So printing more is actually necessary to keep the economy going or the mora supply will eventually be depleated. Youre applying real life economic principles to a fantasy world with a completely different socio-economic structure.
I remember when I started playing this game almost 2 years ago, I was using Fischl, my first and strongest character, to fight Childe. The problem was I was mega noob and my builds were trash. Her talents were all level 1 and I was using her normal attacks to chip away at his health. She was doing like 100 damage per attack so the fight lasted a long time. Also he could one-shot me so the fight was really intense. I remember debating whether I should use my one and only bow billet to craft Compound bow just so that I can attack him a bit faster. In the end I did not and Sweet Madame carried.
Ngl, when I played through that quest, I completely forgot that my main objective was to find my sibling, and when he (she in my case) said that, my reaction was somewhat similar.
Note: Mora is not "money" as irl value, but more like "gold". Mora has actual use like being catalyst for things (i.e. like why you use alot of it while upgrading weapons, etc.). Morax basically creates gold which is then used as a base currency by the entire world.
@Necrit2 actually in this setting, not printing new money is an issue. More has magical properties and is a basic ingredient in alchemy. Meaning, every time someone transmutes something, there are less Mora in the world.
Mora is actually disappearing. It is geo power from the Geo archon and is concentrated into tiny pieces. It's used to forge weapons and in alchemical practice not just as a currency.
note this, from this point forward into the game, the traveler may speak with the choice options. I wont confirm or deny the illusion of choice, as a writer I think the experience of duality plays well into the narrative, but there are also time in this game were both options are a single sentence kinda thing. like that 4:33 "follow me, there's only one place he would go". In Inazuma you'll see how this is used more openly.
@necrit2183 also...hate to be the "ahem actually" guy, but fun fact at 1:26:52 Mora also has lore. the game says its a catalyst for transformation, indicating that the Mora you use to enhance your characters and weapons do indeed physically vanish once used.

I left this mission with such dexterity that I just walked away and didn't ask Zhongli anything else. After this mission was over I just left Liyue as quickly as possible and went to Sumeru.

Necrit, the thing with Childe is that he is a weapon master. He literally knows how to fight with every of them, bow is just the least of his favourite and he's the least expirenced with it. Therefore he uses it to gets better. But in serious combat he switches to melee and use daggers. Also, if you have him as a character, i his normal bow attack animations, the last shot is just him throwing the arrow. Literally. And ironically, that last arrow thriw has the highest damage output, lol. Sincerly, a Childe main.

A little precision about Mora and how inflation doesn't apply : Mora is a catalyst, a source of power, since it's created by the power of a god. It is used for everything as you can see in alchemy, or even upgrading your weapons, it's consumable. That's why it will be an economican issue if they don't find another currency soon

The funny thing is that it took like 2 years for them to bring the jade chamber back. Kinda sad that new players dont really get to feel the impact of the chamber sacrifice since you can rebuild it now.

the problem is that in this game losing usually isn't a matter of skill, but being underleveled, so it kinds sucks to stop the story in the middle just to farm artifacts and level up materials to resume the story, so i think it makes sense to nerf that characters so you can beat then as soon as you level up enough to unlock the quest, instead of when you are ready to go to the next world level
i think that is why they made Raiden slower than Childe and made a pre-requisite quest to train dodging her attacks

Deflation is just as big of a problem as inflation, if not even worse as it causes a death spiral in the economy.
The fact it has real usages just like the gold and silver currencies of old does not change that.

There is a very good reason why countries continue to create new money semi-regularly even today.
To make it short :
If there is no new money being made, then it's eventually going to deflate and every single coin is going to become more valuable.
This is going to make everyone want to hoard money as and avoid spending it.
If everyone knows that "my 100 mora is going to be worth 200 mora tomorrow" then nobody is going to want to buy anything other than what you need to live.
But it's not just the consumers that do not want to spend money, the company owners also do not want to lose money, so they stop offering jobs.
And this is going to cause the economy to implode on itself because it causes the flow of money to stop completely.
I wonder if they gonna address this somehow, this is chapter 1 so surely the writer would know this is a big problem that simply "create new currency" wouldn't solve

I think he doesn't understand how Mora works, in this world Mora isn't just a currency, it's also a resource, like when you upgrade a weapon or when you do alchemy, there are implications that everyone adheres to these rules as well. Mora is a finite resource that Morax was expected to create, that's why Paimon was concerned.

It's crazy to me how linked Childe and Zhongli used to be during the Liyue Archon quest, now I barely relate the two of them, I feel Childe grew closer to a solo character with us being their closest relationship away from Snezhnaya, and Zhongli feels more connected to Liyue itself now a days, specially the adepti and Hu Tao, but also like a looming protector over the city and it's inhabitants

There's no way for them to reconnect anyway. Zhongli used Childe, and Childe isn't welcome in Liyue anymore after what he pulled off. While it may seem that they had a meaningful relationship of some kind during this quest, he's actually only Zhongli's tool to pull of his little test for Liyue.
Of course, you ever noticed in Liyue events, Zhongli is always associated with Hu Tao and the Adepti but Childe is nowhere to be seen? Of course, he's a wanted criminal there and he's from Snezhnaya.

Since Teyvat is not ruled by one government or one leader, why do they use only one currency? It’s because Mora is used.
It’s used for crafting, for cooking, and for refining.
It’s used to make weapons stronger. It’s used for lights. It’s used for buildings.
Nearly everything you see in the game that is made by someone probably made it by Mora. Mora is used up when this happens.
That’s why there is a Game Theory video on how Morax doing what he did will cause an economical drought and depression due to everyone needing to readjust to not using Mora.
As I remember even in loading screen there is a hint, that Mora is Catalyst for crafting and alchemy.
I do not think that it will have that much of effect on economy, they simply will switch to a "Flat" money model as we have in real life, but it will cause problems for crafting and alchemy at least.

Also Khaenri'ah did not use Mora and still were able to create things and kinda strong things, so Mora was an easy and cheap way to give people a Catalyst, but now they will need to find things by themself.

You'll see Zhongli's obvious silhouette later in flashback illustrations about the Archon War / Adepti / ancient Liyue history. He didn't do this for money (which he can infinitely create as Morax with his gnosis) but because there is an unknown contract between the Tsaritsa and him. Eventually they might reveal the conditions of their agreement, but for now it's basically unknown what their entire deal is concerning. Zhongli clearly asked for her assistance in staging this test to see if he could finally safely retire as part of the contract conditions. As to why he was willing to give up the gnosis as a price, you'll have to continue with the story as it is something we are still piecing together. It may have something to do with the gods' collective feelings about Celestia, as losing the gnosis severs their connection to it.
As far as the Rite of Parting, there are context clues that suggest perhaps Zhongli was organizing it for another god that previously passed away and may not have received a Rite of Parting in the past, due to some of the items chosen (such as the flowers and stones, which are not representative of Morax, but rather represent a friend of his named Guizhong, for whom the ballista used in the finale was named).
There is an overarching story besides just journeying from region to region. This story is largely told through intermission quests involving the character Dainslief. Those quests are major lore bombs, I recommend streaming those too.

Man, I remember playing this back in 1.0, me and a friend had many theories about Morax just cause the Zhongli answer was too obvious and we expected something maybe more elaborate, we thought he was a red herring or something, but when we played 1.1 it was like "oh, ok, they did the obvious safe thing" it wasn't something bad at all, we just expected a bigger twist, since then I just expect the least complicated things for the main story of the game, the good thing is that it picked up in quality a lot in Sumeru imo

@@saceurai6629 I wouldn't say Genshin's storytelling is what makes it great. I'd say it's Genshin's world-building, of which the storytelling is just one part of it. It's how the geography and locales are rich in history, how things like item descriptions and profile voicelines flesh out the lore of Teyvat and corroborate with existing pieces of information. Hidden in details from character and enemy designs to details in the world itself, there's a lot more hints to deeper lore hidden under the surface that most people would gloss over or overlook.
Oh, a couple other things: You do get to ask about things after every Archon story arc. In case you missed it, you have a similar conversation at the end of the prologue with Venti and get to ask him questions also. So yes, you (presumably) had seen this before.
And lastly, Mora is not just currency, but also an alchemy catalyst. So you can quite literally use it up. The mechanic in the game profiles where you spend Mora to level things up? . . . It is an actual in-story mechanic also. They acknowledge this in the story. Later, during a character quest, some Liyue scholars are philosophizing about the nature of Mora and how important it was to certain aspects of Liyue's history given that it is such a powerful catalyst. So it is both essential as currency and also as a resource material.

He looks so smug the entire time, he legitimately believes he has figured out a twist that doesn't exist, and is waiting for it to be revealed. It's legitimately painful to watch. In his mind, there is no 'conclusion' and the story 'isn't done' until what HE thinks is happening is confirmed.
But worse yet was hearing him say that if he had written it, he would have made it so that Zhongli was 'just tricking them'. I'm sorry but that would have been such a childish, terrible 'twist' that would have ruined the impact of the moment. It's like pulling a 'haha it was actually all just a dream!' twist. Makes me glad he's NOT a writer.

I'm really enjoying watching Necrit play Genshin but it bugs me a little that, at times, it becomes clear he isn't paying close attention to the story he is being presented. For now it's mostly fine but he'll have a harder time keeping up in Inazuma and Sumeru for sure!

So the reason Childe can wield 2 elements is because he has a regular vision and an artifical one called a delusion. His vision is hydro, his delusion is electro. The delusions are an invention of the Fatui, and a way for regular mortals to use elemental powers. However it has a nasty side effect, I won't say more.
Also, The statue of the seven have the likeness of their archon on them. This is why players were immediately suspicious of Zhongli when he appeared because he looked very similar to the archon on top of the Liyue statue of the seven

About Mora in Genshin. It isn't just money. It is literally a catalyst used in crafting and alchemy (lore reason why everything takes mora). It will eventually all be consumed hence why a certain amount was minted regularly. So, Zhongli basically doomed all of Teyvat's economy by stepping down.
Economy can "survive" by simply switching to s.c. Flat Currencies, like we have in real world, yes, it still will cause some problems, but not as a deal as the Mora as Catalyst problem, which technically, if no one will found another way, Crafting, Alchemy and even Ascending will experience huge problems in future, but Alice will find the way to fix that I think.... 😉

They actually nerfed tha Childe boss fight like a month or two after the game launched cuz he was wiping people out.
Most experienced gamers could still take him down (though he was ALOT tougher) but Genshin attracted massive amount of people new to the this type of game and a not unsignificant amount of people completely new to games in general, alot of anime fans who never played anything before signed up so they really didnt stand a chance.
Thats lightning attack where he jumps on you was pretty much a one-shot kill if you were lvl50 or below and he used it way more frequently, the whale had a splash area that only left like a quarter of an inch at the edge of the screen safe and it was located right behind Childe.
It also did ALOT more damage, often one shotting players as well.
He had more health too.
As you noticed he still did some damage even to you who are higher level than most people were back when the game was new.
Having the Dendro element, which is absolutely broken, is also a massive benefit no one else had back then.
You did obviously go easy to check out his moves and such but still, some of his moves hurt a little.
Imagine if he had 5 times more HP,, did three times more damage and used his killer moves once every 10 seconds and cut your own damage in half and you get an idea what this boss was originally like.
He was a menace to so many players xD
Ive been playing games like this since the dawn of time and I struggled a bit to be honest.
To be fair, I rushed the story mode and was a little bit under leveled but it was still way harder than I expected.
I remember when he almost oneshot my Noelle fully built in Def under her active Shield, it made me nervous.... I defeated him in first try, but only Noelle with 200hp left alive at the end, I remember that battle perfectly and it is sad, that people can not experience that anymore, Childe became even more passive in his attacks and movement on the arena, so even if player will go fully unequiped into this battle, boss still be easy....
But on the other hand I understand why they did that, cos people were crying that they were simply unable to finish the quest, main story quest.....
Yea, my Noelle was lvl50 back then and full built in def to heal and shield and even then he was able to fully destroy the shield and take more than half of HP with that attack, that was scary, and fun....
Actually, in this world that IS how it works.
Mora is not just money, its a catalyst used in all creation.
When you "pay" to use the crafting bench or enchant stuff etc, its not a fee, the Mora is actually consumed.
Picture soemthing like Alchemy in Full Metal Alchemist.
You dont spend it, you use it to create something else.
Yes, it IS used as Currency because of is value but its value, unlike our money, is not because its backed by oil or gold giving it value.
The mora itself is a consumable product.
So printing more is actually necessary to keep the economy going or the mora supply will eventually be depleated.
Youre applying real life economic principles to a fantasy world with a completely different socio-economic structure.

I remember when I started playing this game almost 2 years ago, I was using Fischl, my first and strongest character, to fight Childe.
The problem was I was mega noob and my builds were trash. Her talents were all level 1 and I was using her normal attacks to chip away at his health.
She was doing like 100 damage per attack so the fight lasted a long time. Also he could one-shot me so the fight was really intense.
I remember debating whether I should use my one and only bow billet to craft Compound bow just so that I can attack him a bit faster.
In the end I did not and Sweet Madame carried.
Hopefully we can see Necrit react to all Genshin character trailers
Ngl, when I played through that quest, I completely forgot that my main objective was to find my sibling, and when he (she in my case) said that, my reaction was somewhat similar.
Note: Mora is not "money" as irl value, but more like "gold". Mora has actual use like being catalyst for things (i.e. like why you use alot of it while upgrading weapons, etc.). Morax basically creates gold which is then used as a base currency by the entire world.

@Necrit2 actually in this setting, not printing new money is an issue. More has magical properties and is a basic ingredient in alchemy.
Meaning, every time someone transmutes something, there are less Mora in the world.
Mora is actually disappearing. It is geo power from the Geo archon and is concentrated into tiny pieces. It's used to forge weapons and in alchemical practice not just as a currency.
note this, from this point forward into the game, the traveler may speak with the choice options. I wont confirm or deny the illusion of choice, as a writer I think the experience of duality plays well into the narrative, but there are also time in this game were both options are a single sentence kinda thing. like that 4:33 "follow me, there's only one place he would go". In Inazuma you'll see how this is used more openly.

also...hate to be the "ahem actually" guy, but fun fact at 1:26:52 Mora also has lore. the game says its a catalyst for transformation, indicating that the Mora you use to enhance your characters and weapons do indeed physically vanish once used.

child boss fight was easy because he got nerfed , i believe it was either during the inazuma release, since new people who wanted to experience inazuma event couldnt beat childe without farming things, which would take time and make the unable to progress into the story, inazuma too have been nerfed, it was a grimm place but everything is so easy now too

I left this mission with such dexterity that I just walked away and didn't ask Zhongli anything else. After this mission was over I just left Liyue as quickly as possible and went to Sumeru.

For someone who’s such a lore and story guy, Necrit has really shit taste in storytelling. He keeps going on about zhongli lying and taking the mora as a trick, but that’s the dumbest take I’ve heard. It’s not clever or funny at all.
I miss how at 1.0 we still didn't have the answer to the archon quest yet so we kept theorizing if zhongli is the archon or not... good times. I did read all volumes of rex incognito just to prove the point lol.
not Necrit refusing to believe all the little facts spit out by the game about Zhongli to be Rex Lapis (good memory, etc.). also necrit failing to remember why the traveler needs to post missing person posters 😬 I think necrit lowkey disrespecting the game by not paying much information.
Me- as someone who considered him as lore god almost, got a bit disappointed there.
i think he is the kind to read up lore after playing the game and not during the time of play through. has to be or probably because he is streaming so he can't give 100% concentration

the bro got lost so hard by the lore because overthingking things too much xD. zhongli as a mortal is abide by the mortal rule. he can no longer spawn more mora (gold) as he used to when he still active as rex lapis the god of geo, contract, and wealth. he fake his own death so the people of liyue will no longer rely on divine power and now he is able to walk publicly without anyone noticing
56:40 the player having 4 caracter in party is just for gameplay purpose, in lorewise, it just the TRAVELER that fighting alone, some people in youtube like playing as lore acurate, that they only use Traveler only, and well, the fight take more longger to finish just one boss

Necrit, the thing with Childe is that he is a weapon master. He literally knows how to fight with every of them, bow is just the least of his favourite and he's the least expirenced with it. Therefore he uses it to gets better. But in serious combat he switches to melee and use daggers.
Also, if you have him as a character, i his normal bow attack animations, the last shot is just him throwing the arrow. Literally. And ironically, that last arrow thriw has the highest damage output, lol.

Mora is a catalyst, a source of power, since it's created by the power of a god. It is used for everything as you can see in alchemy, or even upgrading your weapons, it's consumable.
That's why it will be an economican issue if they don't find another currency soon
funny thing that after this quest it always feels like the you don't get enough mora and running out of it too quickly. they made economic deflation part of the gameplay
