    "When shadows loom and darkness falls,
    We rise above the toughest walls.
    With courage in heart, we defy the gods,
    For you were meant to against all odds."

      I would love that - he is a great artist! My group Musk Ox actually had the privilege of opening for Wardruna in 2012 and we were blown away by their performance.

    This must be one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard. Melancholically sad and uplifting at the same time. It brought me to tears. And the rest of the album is equally magnificent!
    Bizarrely, I found this gem after listening to one of your fellow Canadians, Devin Townsend. It was recommended to me through the 'progmetal' tag. Must have been my lucky day. To me, Tumult sounds as a combination of some of my favourite musical genres: classical, ambient trance, progmetal and just a hint of a Hans Zimmer movie score.
    TL;DR: Love it to pieces. Greetings from The Netherlands.

    Again hauntingly beautiful, I love how it builds up, then the somewhat sudden changes around 7:00 and 9:30. Love it & can't wait for the full album!
    And my not-so-secret dream - seeing you and Jo Quail work together one day... :-)

    This song reminds me of the video game Unravel, which is an amazing game with fantastic music set in the beautiful nature in the north of Sweden. So that is definetly not a bad review :D

  • @AndrewGKMusic

    That rhythmic pattern at 0:42...do I detect some Opeth influence there? Grand Conjuration perhaps? Except my mind is broken trying to math how you do 4 hits per measure in 3/4 and they do 11.5 in 2 measures of 4/4 like what is actually happening?

    • @RaphaelWeinrothBrowne
      @RaphaelWeinrothBrowne  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, I didn't have Opeth in mind at all while writing this, but I do love that song!

      Interesting to hear that! I'm actually not very familiar with his work. I'd say these movements are largely influenced by metal and electronic music.
