Every single episode, people are like giVe tHiS pErSon a nOM and I'm like... EVERYONE has pulled their weight in this show. Everyone. The show deserves awards in itself as a testament to just how talented they all are as a collective, actors and writers/directors.
Throughout the seasons, I don't think any one person out anymore than the rest because they're *all* phenomenal.
I wish they had Sarah talk about Shiv’s conversation with Mattson
Definitely, but I’ll bet something big’s coming of that, either he was lying or Shiv really has something on him. Hearing from Sarah now might spoil things down the line. Added to which, this was definitely Kieran’s ep to shine.
She was so seductive with Tom after seeing Mattson…he gets her juices flowing and he is tapping into her Daddy issues perfectlly because she likes the attention from Mattson and ep 6 previews and mid season trailers show that she is getting cocky again and will walk all over Tom again.
I just wanna know why she was drinking and doing drugs with Mattson if she's apparently pregnant?!

I really loved how Alexander Skarsgård portrayed Mattson in this episode his body language was very dominant.

Alexander Skarsgard is such an underrated actor. He walks a great line here where you're never really sure how to feel about him, what he's about to say, or what he's gonna do next. He's almost impossible to read and yet he sees everything, and that makes him a great opponent for these last few episodes.

My relatives thinks the show is repetitive, don’t evolve and the business part is not that deep and very cliché. Even if it’s true i keep watching it because i like the theatrical part of it.
The Succession Wikipedia page says "Several critics have cited it as one of the greatest television series of all time." It's definitely up there and has been up there since Season 2.
@@aesonas while there might be repetitive plot points, the relationship between the characters has always moved forward and changed every season. that's what i like about it

True, every single one of them. Even Karolina who is mostly in the background is doing some crazy subtle acting, like the eyes she gives Hugo when he asks if she is on the kill list.

In addition to the masterpiece plot, acting, music, I want to say a huge thank you to the cameramen and the entire film crew for one more aesthetic pleasure. I felt like I was in Scandinavia myself.

I think he would be considered what Logan would call “serious people”.
Shiv got him to keep all of her people though.
And she knows compromising stuff on him, the blood thing.
How come hes the mvp? He made it clear from previous episodes that he didnt want to pay more but ended up paying a frickin premium on the stock. Ken and Roman can just walk with that and using the proceeds to chase their dream in the new endeavor. Its just a matter of how they want to preserve the ATN since its their dads legacy
Mattson shows that everything Logan did was in a weird way preparing them for life without him. Every move he pulled on the siblings is being done by Mattson now. Degrade Kendall, insult Roman, manipulate Shiv
If you never explain that's your doing, not much of a lesson.
I think that Shiv is the smartest here.
see i read it differently- to me how he raised them has left them completely vulnerable to guys like mattson. they just fall into the same patterns they always did with their emotionally abusive father because they’re damaged and don’t know any better. but your thoughts are interesting to read nonetheless!

Another Connor centric episode. After the episodes "Rehearsal" (for his wedding), "Connor's Wedding" and "Honeymoon States" I hoped the shows focus would shift away from him to his siblings and the company. But the producers know a cash cow when they see it, so they gave the fans what they wanted: Focusing in on Connor and him dealing with his grief and the funeral arrangements almost all on his own, his wife by his side of course.
This episode held us masterfully in suspense about the kilt decision, not showing the whole process but instead the symbolism with people taking cable car rides and talking about feelings and stuff. An analogy of course. And in the end the conclusion to the kilt dilemma (not gonna spoil it) in a single picture we don't even get to see. Expertly done!

I hope he's written a eulogy for his father that is equally as powerful and touching for his close family friend Lester.
Finally someone gets it. The whole episode was window dressing, misdirection, while the real powerhouse puppet master made his moves off screen.

That Mattson/Roman scene was BRILLIANT!!
We saw the REAL Roman Roy in this episode. When Mattson kept jabbing, he finally snaps and shows us that he's in it now fully. Logan would have been proud to see him show so much spine. Great scene with Kieran and Alexander. 👍🏽
No, Logan wouldn't be proud of Roman. His son was putting his emotions in front the deal. Logan was a hard angry man who didn't know or care about love (he didn't even go to his own son's wedding because the deal was more important for him). Roman loved his father and let the love for memory of his father get in the way of the deal.
Even the fact that it worked in the end for the deal, wouldn't make Logan respect him. It would just prove to him how manipulated his son can be, and he works best as an attack dog on a leash, which was the last role Logan gave him when he asked him to fire Gerry.
These past few episodes have been incredible

I love how Mattson told Shiv exactly what she wanted to hear and she lapped it up. Looked like a repeat of season 2 Shiv and Logan.
Yup, testing to see where her loyalties are by planting an insane story. And he will likely find out they are with herself. Likely set Tom up to be on her side and then break him down ... again.
I'm not so sure. I think he saw Shiv was real when he asked her about her marriage and she said it was f*cked. He has a change of expression when she says that. I think he realized Shiv was the only one there being honest with him. She also mentioned Gerri and Caroline being assets to the company and they were kept off of the kill list. He was also pretty coked up hence the openness about the blood issue. I may be wrong but I don't think he was manipulating her.
Best episode yet and that's saying a lot. Actors and writers firing on all cylinders and the Norwegian setting just breathtaking. Bravo to the entire cast and crew!
Whoever came up with that QUAD idea/dialogue needs a raise.
Having "Takeover" by Jay Z at the beginning after Kendall made the choice to smear Logan's name at the end of last episode is such a boss move decision by the creators

I’m so excited to see Roman take charge and make a difference. Sometimes I feel Kendall and Shiv maneuver like crazy but get nowhere, swimming in opposite directions.

@@Nimajneb42069 ok. So before this season, I never really liked Conner. I don't actually like any of the characters in general since they're so.. yk:)) but I feel sorry for them at times. And this season, Conner's emotions and sadness and kindness really caught me of guard, he's the most considerate. And maybe it's my own fault I didn't pay close attention to him before! All of them have been growing on me all of a sudden in the last season

Matsson is a fantastic villain. Calculated, aggressive, the right amount of batshit crazy. Tall and handsome. Dude made Roman into a sniveling baby and still came out on top.

@@JuhoTunkelo No, 145 was the offer _without_ ATN. The offer went up to 187 once he told them he wanted ATN bundled into the deal. So, he only went up by 5, but not because he was being played, but because he was playing them. He realized they wanted to nuke the deal, so he specifically informed Karl that he was willing to go to 192 because he knew the board would turn on the Roy brothers if they passed on that offer. They had to take the deal. Why do you think he asked Shiv to take a picture of their faces? The guy is perverse. He wanted to see the misery in their faces, and all that stuff about him sending his blood to his comms director, the bit where he jokingly offered "one single dollar" was for context. The guy gets off on the discomfort and misery he causes in others.

@@cancerino666 192 minus 187 isn't 9, it's 5. And you have to figure that his counter of 192 was the figure he was already willing to pay for the whole outfit including ATN. But he started at 187.
I literally binge watched every season and episode and caught up this past weekend I’m definitely addicted lmao 🤣 this show is phenomenally sarcastic and deep
I'd like to believe Kendall has something up his sleeve. He's been waiting for something. That dude is cooking!
After Roman and Lukas showdown, Kendall said something like "that's not in the plan but it might plays out" meaning he looked at all angles for every possibility.
He even checked in on Shiv via Roman saying "would pinky dance?" because he knows Shiv is not in for it, she got her own personal agenda.
There is no plan, Matson was baiting him and Roman fell for it hook line and sinker. Matson played Roman like a fiddle and got exactly what he wanted.
@@spacecadet2172 I don't think he played Roman, I think Roman having that outburst genuinely helped their case. It all depends on if they actually would sell for the major price, they haven't specified yet but Roman did what Logan would've done and spoke from his gut and that was pretty much the only way Mattson agreed to a better deal. But I'd like to know on more detail why you think otherwise?

@@cancerino666 that money is nothing to him. He has almost unlimited reserves of money. He doesn’t care about the price. He cares about “winning” and about getting ATN ie being able to do what he wants with Logan’s legacy. Business negotiations are all about maintaining composure, and Roman failed epically. He lost his composure and exposed his hand, and as a result he handed Matson the farm on a silver platter.

Shiv kept looking at Ebba for some reason every time she was in the same scene frame. Maybe they talked. Maybe she does have something on Mattson.
Mattson and Ebba are playing Shiv. He’s a killer with all he deals with and is vulnerable to Shiv? There is a parallel to his conversation with her and Logan playing Shiv in season 2.

Idk how Shiv was supposed to believe the blood brick thing. I get that Mattson must have a crazy reputation in this universe but why would he open up to her. Maybe Shiv is more narcissistic than I thought and Mattson knows it.

I'm gonna be honest the Greg dynamics just don't seem relevant at this point. I kinda feel bad for Nicholas cus they have made Greg almost regress since Season 2 where he looked like he could be a player.
Does Greg's GrandFather have shares in waystar royco, if Greg somehow got those shares he would be a player. Look at the opening credits the picture where everybody is looking a Logan, but Greg who is looking in the opposite direction, what is up with that?
Greg is an eyesore at this point. There’s some twist with him coming.
I don't think he ever was a major player. We as the audience wanted him to be because it would've been different but at no point have they shown he might actually be top dog.

I didn't realize just how much Kieran LIVES in his character, wow.
This show is is one that is so hard to wait a week for. While almost all the characters are great, Roman’s has really evolved and Kieran has played him beautifully. I can’t imagine him not getting an Emmy nod for this. Also, he goes into deeper explanation on the podcast. Highly recommend.

The drama was never outside of the family. When Logan died that didn’t mean the drama ended. The main drama, as it was from the very beginning, are between Kendall, Shiv, and Roman. They are all enemies against each other whether they realize it or not.

@Jack Autumn In what situation would it be optimal for herself to send pictures of her brothers defeated faces to him, if she told then to look happy she could give off the illusion they were still on top and he would have to keep renegotiating. Roman's outburst was the only thing that caused Mattson to raise his offer .

Mattson lives in the wild surrounded by breathtaking nature which aligns with the beast, werewolf, Dracula that he is. I believe he's working them to try and destroy and eradicate them

Such excellent TV. All four seasons have been consistently impressive and compelling. A masterpiece of a series that I fear will remain all too relevant for many decades to come
